The clocks have gone forward, leaving many of us in a rush this morning as we forgot what time it really was. To wake us up (alongside a strong coffee ☕️) we’ve decided to pick an uplifting dance from our last series and what better a dance to pick than Natalie and Artem’s show stopper of a showdance.
This dance was not only technically perfect but featured every dance style imaginable as well as lots of jumps tricks and poles. Natalie looked stunning in green and Artem, well, 😍 *faints into her coffee.* On a more slightly serious note, it left us smiling and beaming from ear to ear and has definitely woken us up this morning.
So, here it is, just for you Natalie and Artem’s fab-u-lous showdance. We hope you enjoy it:
As you know, here at the Strictly Support Group, we love a good vote and with it being Mother’s Day we couldn’t resist trying to find out who’s been the yummiest mummy in the history of our favourite show.
Your votes have been checked, counted and verified and we can now reveal the results (does a happy dance and forgets where she is..) Now where we’re we? Oh yeah! The results…
In 3rd place we have a tie (gasps!) between Zoe Ball, Abbey Clancy, Karen Hardy and Denise Van Outen.
In 2nd place we have the Gorgeous and very Glamourous Fiona Fullerton.
And our winner, in 1st place, the wonderwoman and yummiest mummy of Strictly is Susanna Reid
As a treat we decided to show you Susanna and Kevin’s neck of steel Showdance, one of our favourite routines of the last series.
Here it is as our way of wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day and saying thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm.
In honour of it being Mother’s Day, yesterday we devoted our lovely Strictly Support Group Chat to honour some of the wonderful yummy mummies who’ve graced the dance floor with their amazingness over the last 11 series.
We started our chat by asking you who’d been the yummiest mummy for you on strictly and had some interesting and funny answers:
As you can see we managed a mention by the lovely Fern Britton. We were left feeling a little starstruck, as we loved her on Strictly and have loved watching her on TV in various things.
After watching Daybreak’s Mother’s Day Surprise featuring Kevin (from Grimsby) Clifton and Karen Hauer, it got us thinking, if you could wish for anything strictly related as a Mother’s Day gift, what would it be? Here are some of your fab-u-lous answers:
It seemed from our chat that a lot of you wanted to meet the Strictly Pros as your wish, so we moved our discussion onto a topic suggested by Alex (@sparkleyalex.) We wanted to find out if any of you have ever met the pros and what your first impressions of them were. Once again, we had lots of great responses. Here they are just for you:
And that conclude our chat yesterday. Once again we want to thank you all for your enthusiasm and love of all things strictly. We’ll be back at the same time next week for more fun and chat. We hope you can join us then.
For all you mums a very Happy Mother’s Day from all at the Strictly Support Group.
Whilst we’re being treated to breakfast in bed and being showered with cards, cake and other Mother’s Day Gifts, today we thought we’d dedicate our Smooth Sunday especially to Mother’s Day.
Today’s American Smooth comes from one of our yummy mummies of series 11, our reigning champion, Abbey Clancy and her dance partner Aljaz Skoranjec. We loved the dancing and theming of this and felt lots of mums across the country would have felt proud watching them dance this school prom themed routine. Abbey’s dress was stunning (as per usual) and we wanted to fill the balloons with glitter and pop them!
We loved it so much, we couldn’t resist showing it to you again. Here it is just for you, Abbey and Aljaz’s American Smooth:
We hope you enjoyed watching that. If you have any Mother’s Day requests or would like to give your mum a shoutout, please tweet us @scd_support. We’d love to hear from you.
It’s Mothering Sunday tomorrow, a day for all us mums to be treated and for sons and daughters to reward us for the great work we do. So whilst we’ll be taking the day off tomorrow to spend some well deserved time with our families, tonight’s Strictly Support Group will have a Mother’s Day touch to it.
Over the past 11 series lots of mums have taken to the floor on our favourite show. We’ve seen the yummy mummies – Darcey, Abbey and Sophie to name a few, the Supermummies (combining work, dance training and being a mum) like Susanna and many more.
In true Strictly Support Group style, we’d love to find out who’s been the yummiest mummy on strictly, so have set up a poll to help us decide. Just vote in the poll below to take part. Voting will close at 9pm tonight, with the winner being revealed on here and on @scd_support tomorrow.
For today’s Foxtrot Friday we are treating you to not just one but 2 foxtrots! For our first foxtrot fix, we’re going back to 2011 to see Chelsee and Pasha’s beautifully elegant foxtrot. When we first saw this dance we loved it for these reasons:
😍 It has Pasha in it!
😍 It was beautifully choreographed and danced
😍 we loved the music and Pasha’s piano playing (despite being away from the keyboard most of the time – he’s got superpowers!
Here it us for you to enjoy:
We also love helping you celebrate birthdays and when we heard it was the lovely Tasha on TV’s birthday (tashaontv.wordpress.com) we thought we’d provide her with a glittery strictlified birthday surprise in this professional modern foxtrot featuring Brendan, Aliona, Katya and Matt. It’s unique, edgy and we loved it. Here it is especially for you all:
We hope you enjoyed your foxtrot Friday fixes. We’ll be here tomorrow for our next strictly support group. Join us at 6.30pm tomorrow on @scd_support to take part.
We owe a lot to Strictly and are extremely grateful as the show has helped us make lots of friends on here and reignited our love of all things dance related. In fact, we’ve even been known to shimmy down the aisles in Sainsbury’s, Waltz around WH Smiths or Jive in John Lewis’s (please note we do not recommend this unless you are highly skilled, it can result in injury!)
Yesterday afternoon we thought we’d have a chat to find out your reasons to be grateful for dance and strictly. Here are some of your answers below:
@scd_support#thankstodance & strictly brought back happy memories of watchin come dancin as a kid. 4 bringin us Artem & fab friends on here
Wednesday’s at the Strictly Support Group are our chance to cure your hump day blues with a dance guaranteed to make you smile.
Today we’ve chosen a Charleston which we were mad about when we first saw it in 2011. It’s a Harry and Aliona’s fun Charleston which featured lots of tricks and great choreography. They were both perfectly synchronised too, which made it amazing viewing.
We love the Charleston for its expressiveness and also love 1920s fashion too. It’s a dance that can make even the grumpiest of people (aka Craig Revel-Horwood) smile. If it can make him smile, it can cure our hump day blues. So here for your daily Strictly Fix is Harry and Aliona’s Charleston. It’s guaranteed to make you beam from ear to ear. If not, let us know and we can find a dance that’ll make you grin like the Cheshire Cat.
Have a wonderful Wednesday guys.
