Wednesday Warm-Up – Our Last Warm-up of 2014

*Gets tissues out* It’s going to get emosh, as today’s our last strictly fix of 2014! *composes herself* But don’t panic! We’ll be back tomorrow and every day next year with strictly fixes and chats at least twice a week to keep you going while Strictly is not on our screens.

We wanted to pick an extra special dance for today’s Wednesday Warm-Up, so today we’ve chosen the dance we’d love the Beefeaters outside Buckingham Palace to perform. Yes we’ve chosen Caroline and Pasha’s Jive which made them King and Queen of Strictly.

We loved the concept of this dance, as well as the costumes (we want Pasha to be a beefeater,) music and choreography. As ever Pasha’s choreography was inventive, original and fabulous. We could hardly tell Caroline apart from the professional dancers and the whole routine was one of those perfect Strictly moments. We’re pretty sure that this routine helped her become Strictly 2014 Champion as it was an out of this world performance for around the world week!

In case you missed it earlier, here are Caroline and Pasha with their wonderful jive! We hope you enjoy watching it:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Tweet us @scd_support or comment in the box below. We look forward to hearing from you. We hope you all have a happy, safe and warm New Year’s Eve! Thank you for all your support this year, we really appreciate it! Long may the Strictly Support Group continue!

Tango Tuesday – we’re on the lookout for dancing Eskimos!

It may be freezing outside *shivers* but we can always keep warm dancing. One warning, if you see any eskimos around, don’t ask them for a dance. You must never do a tango with an Eskimo!

Now we’ve got the warning out of the way, today’s Tango Tuesday fix is brought to you by Flavia and Rufus Hound. When these two performed on last year’s Christmas Special, this performance warmed us up and made us smile, even if it was chilly outside.

It was entertainment gold which we have come to expect from Strictly. The choreography was great, as were the acting, dancing and music too.

We’d love to see Rufus appear on the next series of Strictly and will keep our fingers crossed it happens.

Here are Rufus and Flavia with their fab-u-lous Tango:

We hope you enjoyed watching that dance and would love to hear what you thought of it. Tweet us @scd_Support or comment below. We’re also trying to find out tips about dance we’ve learnt from songs. Let us know and we’ll make you a shortlist of our favourites.

Monday Memory – A Dance Filled with Festive Magic

This morning, we woke up feeling festive, sparkly and wanting to spread the glittery love with you all.

After we’d eaten our dinner on Christmas Day, one dance truly enchanted us and made my 4 yr old think that fairies live on Planet Strictly. It was Rachel Stevens and Tristan MacManus’s gorgeous Viennese Waltz.

We had forgotten how talented Rachel was and this dance showcased her dancing skills. It was magical, enchanting, elegant, romantic and tear-jerkingly beautiful. It was everything you could wish for in a Viennese Waltz. It also had Tristan in it who melted our hearts. 😍

Rachel made a beautiful Tinkerbelle, her costume gave us serious dress envy, Tristan a hunky Peter Pan, The music was brilliant, the choreography just as it should be and the whole performance was a moment of Strictly perfection. It was our favourite performance of the Strictly Christmas Special.

Once again, we do think Rachel is one of the best runners-up we’ve ever had on Strictly. If they’re ever planning a champion of champions, she should be top of the list.

We’ll leave you with Rachel and Tristan’s gorgeous Viennese Waltz. We hope you enjoy:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that routine and who you’d like to see on a champion of champions Special. Tweet us, comment below or on our facebook page to let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you.

A Humungous, Glittery Thank You To You All!

A year ago today, we started the Strictly Support Group. It all began one Saturday evening when we were missing Strictly and since then we have grown it to what it is today!

When I started the group, I didn’t really think it’d grow to be as big as it is. How wrong was I! Thank you all for everything you have done for us this last year.

We really couldn’t have done it without your support. I know we’ve said it time and time again, but you make this page what it is. We love our chats & during the live shows your interaction is second to none. We know that friendships have been made through our group and through strictly and we have to say you are quite possibly the loveliest group of fans ever!

A special thank you to the lovely Denise (@strictlylucy2) and Serene (@serenepingu) who have helped me out when I’ve needed them. You girlies are strictly fab-u-lous!

Thank you for all your support over the last year and long may the Strictly Support Group continue! We’ll be here from 7pm tonight with our 1st Birthday party! We’ll have cake, games and lots of fun!

We’d like to make you a little something just to say Thank you for all your support. Comment below with your favourite moments of the last year & we’ll make something just for you.

Santa’s Samba Saturday – Ho Ho Ho!

As a parent, I have a special bond with Mr Claus. I may have asked him what his favourite ever Strictly Festive Moment was when we last met, a few weeks before Christmas. You may not know it, but Santa is a huge Strictly fan, and he helped us choose today’s Samba Saturday.

Santa chose Aled and Lilia’s festive Samba for today’s fix. He, like us loved the traditional music, as well as the choreography. We’d never seen a Strictly Festive Samba until this moment and it truly filled us with joy!

We’re pretty sure if Santa and his elves had a Christmas Party, this is how they’d dance.

We loved this routine and hope you will too. Here are Aled and Lilia with their festive Samba, sent from Lapland with love:

We ho-ho-hope you enjoyed watching that dance. Tweet us @scd_support to let us know what you thought of it, or comment below.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Festive Foxtrot Friday – A Special Treat For You All

Yesterday we were well and truly spoilt by Santa, ate loads and spent lots of time surrounded by those we love!

For that reason today we’re chilling out and no dance sums up the chilled out vibe better than a fabulous Foxtrot.

For today’s Foxtrot Friday, we’re going back in the archives to watch Letitia Dean and Darren Bennett’s fabulous festive Foxtrot. Although Letitia didn’t win the Christmas special, this dance was true class and magical.

We loved the music, costumes, choreography and dancing and in our opinion it is worthy of tens! We loved it and hope you will too. Here are Letitia and Darren with their Festive Foxtrot:

Have a wonderful Boxing Day! Our next chat will be on Sunday especially for our 1st Birthday.

Throwback Thursday – Merry Christmas To You All!

So yesterday we revealed that it’s not Christmas until Fairytale of New York has been played on the radio. There’s a film that also reminds us of Christmas, Annie!

Last year two of our fabulous pros, Pasha 😍 and Karen, performed to a beautiful rendition of Tomorrow. It was a dance that truly moved us to tears and left us blubbing into our Christmas dinner (we ended up with turkey soup!)

The choreography was beautiful, the chorister’s voice was angelic and the whole routine just made us want to snuggle up to our loved ones on Christmas Day.

We really loved this dance and are pretty sure that this year’s show will be just as wonderful, if not more than last year’s. Here are Pasha and Karen with their wonderful routine to Tomorrow:

We hope you all enjoyed watching that dance and wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We’ll be here at 5pm tweeting during the Strictly Xmas Special.

We hope you can join us then.

Wednesday Warm-Up – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

There are certain things that signal the start of Christmas for us:
1) The Marks and Spencer’s/John Lewis’s Adverts (we love Monty the Penguin!)
2) The Strictly Season starting and the run up to the final
3) The first playing of Fairytale of New York on the radio.

This last one fills us with joy and when last year our wonderful professional dancers performed a dance to it, we truly felt the Christmas magic! It left us feeling all warm and fuzzy and is the sort of dance that words cannot describe. In case you missed it earlier, here are our fabulous Strictly 2013 Christmas Special cast with their performance to Fairytale of New York:

We hope you enjoyed watching that dance. We’d love to hear what you thought of it. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. On behalf of all of the Strictly Support Group, we wish you a fab-u-lous festive period!

Tango Tuesday – A Trip To The USofA

We know how a lot of you love Dancing With The Stars as much as you love Strictly, so over the next few months we’ll be showing you strictly fixes from around the world.

We’d heard lots of lovely comments about today’s Strictly fix. It is one of those moments of perfection which make you speechless. We’re watching Meryl Davis and Maksim Chemerkovsky’s amazing, intense and passionate and everything you’d want from an Argentine Tango and more. For us, it’s 1 and a half minutes of beautiful artistry and dancing.

It’s clear to see why you loved this dance. We love it too. Here are Meryl and Maksim with their terrific Argentine Tango:

Showdance Sunday

*Checks the Strictly Support Group rule book* Sundays are normally Smooth Sundays where you show an American Smooth. *rips up said rule book*

This week, I’ve decided to change the rules and show a Showdance in honour of last night’s fab-u-lous final! I’ve chosen Natalie and Artem’s showdance from last year’s final.

This dance was not only technically perfect but featured every dance style imaginable as well as lots of jumps tricks and poles. Natalie looked stunning in green which is an achievement in itself. On a more slightly serious note, it left us grinning like the Cheshire Cat.

So, here it is, just for you Natalie and Artem’s fab-u-lous showdance. We hope you enjoy it:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Tweet @scd_support or comment below. We’re also hosting a poll to find your favourite showdance. Just vote below and we’ll reveal the results on Tuesday after 7.30pm:
