All day we’ve been stocking up on our supply of glittery tissues awaiting the inevitable *gulps* first elimination of Strictly 2015.
We love all the contestants this year so much we don’t want to say goodbye to any of them, so we always knew this show would be hard!
The show opened with a fab-u-lous routine from our professionals. This week it was all about the girls. We must admit that they were all truly fabulous, but as a mum my heart jumped out of my chest worried for Janette who was flying and did a superb job. She is truly fearless. The Strictly band surpassed themselves with their awesome arrangement of Rihanna’s Only Girl in the World!
We were treated to some fabulous safety reactions, particularly from Jeremy and Karen, Kellie and Kevin and Katie and Anton who this week win a glitterball for their efforts!
Whilst X-Factor seemed to have a shortage of chairs, Strictly seemed to have plenty especially during the fierce performance from our professionals with Rod Stewart. *asks the strictly producers to lend x-factor some chairs for next week.*
There seemed to be mass confusion with those who were safe in the clauditorium, and we had some quotes of the night from Peter Andre, including “That was worse than giving birth, not that I’ve ever given birth before!” We also had quotes of the night from Daniel O Donell, who compared the strictly heartbeat to Jaws (imagines Craig as Jaws!) and learnt that next week’s show will be Movie Week, where Ainsley will be a penguin!
But in the end Jamelia and Tristan and Iwan and Ola ended up in the dreaded dance-off! Both performed much improved routines and it was going to be hard seing someone go home, however in the end our judges unanimously voted to send Iwan and Ola home.
We’d love to change the rules to see Iwan back on the dancefloor. After all, he encompassed everything Strictly was about. He wanted to do his best and worked as hard as he could, despite his very busy schedule! Iwan and Ola thank you for the memories. Your sprint on Strictly has been short and you will be missed.
We’ll be back on Tuesday from 8pm for our weekly quiz. Hope to see you then.
