The Last Tango – A Sparkly Review with *jazz hands* Boom!

In a relationship there needs to be spontaneity, drama and emotion! Last Thursday my husband decided to surprise me with 2 things:

1) A box of the bestest chocolates in the whole wide world from Hotel Chocolat

2) Tickets to go and see Vincent and Flavia’s Swansong – The Last Tango that night.

I was surprised and (being prone to emotional outbursts) quickly packed all the tissues I could in my handbag (sorry Mulberry!) Having heard great things about this show, it’s safe to say I couldn’t wait!

The show didn’t disappoint. It was filled with emotion, comedy, great story-telling and even better dancing.

Highlights for us had to be the dramatic flamenco routine, as well as of course Vincent and Flavia’s Final Argentine Tango. If you don’t cry watching this show, there has to be something wrong with you. Even my husband came out of the theatre with a tear in his eye it was that beautiful.

I’m sure I was born in the wrong decade, and should have been born in the 1950s. Another highlight of the show had to be the costumes. They were just beautiful and credit has to go to Vicky Gill and her fab-u-lous team. The music was just as brilliant and made us want to dance along in our seats!

All in all we loved the show and would definitely rate it as unmissable. Vincent and Flavia are true masters of their art and this show is worth seeing. As with all relationships the show is spontaneous, dramatic and emotional. In our opinion it deserves a 10/10!

If you’ve been to see the show before let us know what you thought. You can either tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
