100 Sparkly Days of Strictly – Day 44

So last night we saw many wonderful pictures from the Strictly Red Carpet launch. Pictures like this:

All we can say is from the pictures it looks like this series of Strictly is going to be the Best Strictly Ever!

As we get all excited for Strictly, we want you to tell us what your hopes are for Strictly 2016!

I hope that Strictly continues to sparkle and brings us more fantastic and new dances. I’d love to see Bollywood again or another completely different style of dance on the show!

My little girl Bella told me her hopes for Strictly 2016 too I hope that Strictly 2016 is very sparkly with lots of glitter and I hope that the Cliftons all win the glitterball this year.

100 Sparkly Days of Strictly – Day 43

It’s Day 43 of 100 Sparkly Days of Strictly, and it’s also Frankenstein Day!

We love Strictly and feel it is just a huge glitterball of loveliness. Today, however we’re asking you to tell us the times that you have been scared watching strictly:

It could be during the Halloween special, or perhaps during a hard lift which our couples pulled off. Perhaps you were scared during the results show or maybe when your favourite couple got a low score from the judges.

Tell us the moments that left you feeling scared by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below and we’ll give you a big bear hug! We promise we won’t look as panda like as Dave does!

100 Sparkly Days of Strictly – Day 42

It’s Day 42 of 100 Sparkly Days of Strictly and Bank Holiday Monday. We love Bank Holidays as they give us an extra chance to recharge our batteries, and of course, relive some of our favourite Strictly moments even more.

In fact, Bank Holidays as well as helping us recharge our batteries (to the extent we turn into the Duracell bunny) help us chill out!

Today we’re asking you to share the  Strictly moments which made you most chilled out. Here are some of ours in playlist form:

Tell us which strictly dances left you feeling most relaxed by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you. We’ll add your suggestions to this playlist which will become our chill-out playlist!

100 Sparkly days of Strictly – Day 41

We’re almost at the half-way point in our 100 Sparkly days of Strictly. Today just so happens to be Bow Tie Day too!

We’ve seen many a dickie-bow on Strictly and feel they are the perfect accompaniment to our favourite show, especially when they’re sequinned.

You may, or may not have gathered from reading our blog, we have a soft spot for Pasha, so for us, he has to be the best wearer of a bow tie! Here’s a prime example *melts into a big mush*

Who for you wears a Bow tie best? Maybe it’s Len or one of the judges, or another pro or maybe even a celebrity? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strictly Support Group – Princess Bella’s Disney Themed Chat

Over the past few weeks my little Strictly Superfan Bella has taken charge of an interview with two of her favourite pro dancers. She pleaded with me earlier on in the week to host a Strictly Chat before proper Strictly starts!

I asked her what she wanted to talk about, and she asked to chat about Disney, so tonight, she hosted a Disney Themed Chat!

Here’s a brief recap of what happened in Bella’s words!

Hello people inside mummy’s computer. It’s Bella, or Princess Bella! There’s a Glitterball moon in the sky over Disney, or so my mummy tells me! I really want to go there, as much as I want to visit Planet Strictly.

Tonight I hosted a Disney meets Strictly themed chat! On Strictly there have been many Disney themed dances over the past few years. My favourite is this one:

I had some great suggestions from the rest of you. Here they are in a playlist:

I then asked you to tell me if Strictly was a Disney film which film would it be and why? I had some great answers from you all. here are my favourites:

My Prince Charming and Disney Princess on Strictly are Kevin and Karen Clifton. For my next question, I asked you to tell me who are your Prince Charming and Disney Princess on Strictly. Here are your suggestions:

For my next question, mummy showed me how to make a poll. I asked if you’d like to see a Disney themed Strictly week:

I agree with you all. For my final question, I asked, which Disney films would you like to see on Strictly 2016? Here are some of your great answers:

That ended Bella’s chat tonight. Thank you Bella and thank you all for taking part. We hope you enjoyed it.

We’re back on Tuesday from 8pm for our weekly quiz. If you didn’t get a chance to take part in our chat tonight, don’t fear! You can still join in by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below to let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you.

100 Sparkly Days of Strictly – Day 40

On Strictly, there’s one score all our couples aim to achieve at some point during their journey. Some don’t always succeed, but sometimes this happens:

I’m not talking about Bruno standing up, Len pointing, or Craig looking decidedly grumpy, but I’m talking about achieving the perfect score!

Over the years, many people have been given the perfect score of 40 points for their dances. This is one of our all-time favourites (just purely for their reactions on getting 40 out of 40):

What is your all-time favourite perfect scoring performance? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Strictly 2016 – Our Partnership Predictions

We love the Strictly Launch Show and love how Claudia and Tess play a game of Blind Date with the celebrities and pros!

For a little bit of fun, we’ve put our thinking caps on and come up with some ideas for who we’d like to see partnered with who!

Here are our Strictly 2016 Partnership Predictions.

Ed Balls – Katya Jones

Will Young – Karen Clifton – We saw them dance together when Will performed on Strictly and have a feeling they’ll make a great partnership

Laura Whitmore – Brendan Cole – We have a feeling these two will make a strong partnership.

Ore Oduba – Oti Mabuse – Together they could be a very fun couple

Melvin Odoom – Janette Manrara – These two could be team Pocket Rocket!

Louise Redknapp – Pasha Kovalev

Danny Mac – Oksana Platero

Daisy Lowe – Aljaz Skoranjec – Something tells us these two will make a great partnership. We can just feel it

Naga Munchetty – Kevin Clifton – She said she wanted to be partnered with Karen, so have a feeling her and Kevin would be a wonderful partnership.
Anastacia – AJ
Claudia Fragapane – Giovanni Pernice – She is Italian, he is Italian. They’d make a great partnership

Judge Rinder – Joanne Clifton – Scott Mills taught him the crab and he looked a natural. We have a feeling that he’d be a great partner for Jo!

Lesley Joseph – Anton Du Beke – He works well with a more mature lady and we think they’d be truly fab-u-lous
Tameka Empson – Gorka Marquez

Greg Rutherford – Natalie Lowe. He’s very very tall!

Do you agree with our partnerships? Who would you like to see the celebrities partnered with? Comment below or tweet @scd_support to let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you.

100 Sparkly Days of Strictly – Day 38!

For today’s 100 Sparkly Days of Strictly, we’re asking you to cast your minds back to your earliest memory of Strictly Come Dancing.

We’ve watched Strictly from the very beginning, but for us our very earliest memory is this dance, which became known as the Jive of Strictly (until last year when Jay and Aliona’s Jive took this title.) Yes, it’s Jill and Darren’s fab-u-lous jive!

It is one of those moments that left us gobsmacked it was that good. Nobody expected a dance to be that good in week 2! For us it’s gone down in memory as one of the best Jives of all-time!

So what’s your earliest memory of Strictly? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Strictly 2016 – Bella’s Q&A with @karen_hauer @keviclifton

Those of you who know my 6 year old will know that there is nothing she loves more than Strictly, Dancing and of course Unicorns!

A few months ago she asked me if she could write some posts on my blog. One of her requests was to do a “proper interview like the news people do” with her favourite professional dancer, Karen Clifton. She kindly agreed to take part, which meant I had one very happy six year old girl!

She began by asking them this. What can we expect from Strictly 2016?

You can expect lots of exciting new pro numbers and lots of energy from the new pro dancers!

It sounds like it’s going to be epic! The Strictly cast of 2016 have all been announced & I’m getting excited! Of the celebrities who will be dancing on Strictly 2016 who would you like to be paired with most?

Karen: I would love to be paired with someone who is not afraid to be themselves and embrace all things Strictly!

I really want to be a dancer on Strictly when I grow up. What advice would you give to someone like me wanting to be a dancer.

Always work hard and keep practicising!

And as my mummy always tells me, eat your greens and listen to your dance teacher.

What makes a good dancer for you?

Karen: I love dancers that tell a story through their movement!

What’s your favourite song to dance to and what’s your favourite dance?

Karen: This is really hard. I love all songs. It’s too hard to pick one. Same for picking a favourite dance although I do enjoy a quirky Charleston!

You’re opening up a dance school soon and have taught lots of people to dance. What’s the best thing about teaching people to dance and who’s been your best student?

Kevin and I love teaching, specially kids. It’s great for their health, confidence and overall happiness.

All of our students have been the absolute best.

Thank you Karen for taking part and answering Bella’s tough questions! The Strictly 2016 Launch show is on the 3rd September, so just 9 sleeps away! We can’t wait!
