It’s Day 18 of our 100 Sparkly Days of Strictly, and today also marks the opening ceremony of Rio 2016 *starts attempting the Samba in honour of the host nation of this year’s Olympic games*
We thought that today, for our challenge, we’d ask you to tell us who you thought danced with the most Olympic of efforts on Strictly and why?
For us, it has to be this man:
Yes, Jeremy Vine summed up all that was brilliant about Strictly last year. OK, he may not have been a natural dancer, but he tried his hardest with every dance he was given and the choreography that his brilliant teacher Karen gave him.
As well as training really hard and doing his best on the dancefloor, he also showed that dancing isn’t about how far you get on the dancefloor, it’s about having fun too.
He did improve thanks to Karen’s amazing teaching and his hard work, and his reaction to getting a 4 has to be the best reaction we’ve ever seen:
We loved watching him love dancing on Strictly so much and felt saddened when people criticised his dancing, telling him to give up! He didn’t give up and kept dancing which has inspired so many non-dancers and young dancers to keep at it.
If passion and effort were a sport in the Olympics, we’re pretty sure Jeremy would win a gold medal after his time on Strictly.
