Yes, tomorrow night we will prepare ourselves for the spooktacular Strictly Halloween special. We love the Halloween special and like Strictly, it just keeps getting better and better!
Earlier this week we learnt the song and dance choices for this weekend! We’ve looked into our crystal balls 🔮 and here are our predictions for this weekend!
Anastacia and Brendan will be dancing the Jive to ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ by Meat Loaf – Week after week Anastacia is improving and impressing us with her brilliant skill. We have a feeling her inner actress will come out in this dance. Listening to the music we think it’ll be pretty quick but feel that together she and Brendan will pull off a wonderful performance. Having seen her rehearsals so far, they look awesome! Good to have Brendan back too.
Claudia and AJ will be dancing the American Smooth to ‘Black Magic’ by Little Mix – On Sunday’s results show we learnt that Claudia has never dressed up for Halloween before *feels extremely old.* It was her birthday this week, so we’re hoping AJ took her trick or treating. We hear she will be a witch and AJ will be a frog. These two are young and we think this song is a perfect fit for them, but we’re not so sure about whether it’ll fit an American Smooth. We know that whatever choreography Claudia is given she always performs it brilliantly so are sure she will ex-spell on the dancefloor!
Daisy and Aljaz will be dancing the Paso Doble to Santa Esmeralda version of ‘Please Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’ – After landing up in the dance-off last week we’re pretty sure Daisy will come back fighting. The Paso Doble is a great choice for that and we have a feeling that this could be her best dance yet! She looks amazing in whatever she wears and would look good in a bin bag. We love Aljaz’s original choreography, so have a feeling this Paso could be epic!
Danny and Oti will be dancing the Foxtrot to ‘Take Me To Church’ by Hozier – Danny is the one to watch this series. Watching his training he looks brilliant already and in our eyes he could be a pro. The song is a spooky song, and we have a feeling it could be a zombie ghost style theme. We cannot wait.
Ed and Katya will be dancing the Cha Cha to the Hansel Martinez version of ‘Love Potion No. 9’ – Ed Balls doing the Cha Cha on Halloween on Strictly! Our life is complete. He admitted that he’s loving the dance already and we can’t wait to see the concept and performance on Saturday. We have a feeling it’ll make us cackle and vote!
Greg and Natalie will be dancing the Rumba to ‘Bring Me To Life’ by Evanescence – Thank you Strictly for using one of our all-time favourite songs this week. We feel the storytelling in this dance will be brilliant (Natatlie’s choreography is always good at doing that.) We’re unsure if this dance will suit Greg as it is slow and controlled, but we know that he will be practising like crazy and will perform a wonderful dance.
Judge Rinder and Oksana will be dancing the Paso Doble to ‘Born This Way’ by Lady Gaga – His training looks good, Oksana’s butterfly costume sounds wonderful and we think this routine will be perfect for him. His expressive face will definitely help and from watching Judge Rinder whilst unpacking earlier this week he can most definitely do serious.
Laura and Giovanni will be dancing the Tango to ‘Paint It Black’ by The Rolling Stones – We missed Laura last week after her injury so it’s good to see her back this week. From watching her training this dance looks fast and frightfully fabulous. Giovanni’s choreography is always imaginative and challenging, and this girl always looks good in ballroom. We have a feeling this could be the dance of the night!
And now let Battle commence! We have the Clifton Charleston Battle! Yes Kevin and Joanne will be performing Charlestons this week with Louise and Ore! We love a bit of sibling rivalry and cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeves.
Louise and Kevin will be dancing the Charleston to the Emeli Sande version of ‘Crazy In Love’ – We love the Charleston and Kevin always choreographs brilliant Charlestons. Last time he performed a charleston on Halloween he was a werewolf! We cannot wait to see the concept and styling behind this dance. We must say we love the song already and think this dance will be epic!
Ore and Joanne will be dancing the Charleston to the Bow Wow Wow version of ‘I Want Candy’ – *pictures a trick or treat scene* Yup, we really hope these two go trick or treating during their performance. Ore looked like he was struggling with the swivel action in rehearsals. We know with practice it’ll come eventually. We love the song choice and think it could be the performance of the night.
We have a feeling this year’s Halloween special will be the best one yet and we’ll be in for many treats (and a few tricks too!) Who do you think will be spellbinding on the dancefloor this week? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.
