Strictly 2016 – Our Semi-Final Predictions!

*Pinches herself* We can hardly believe it, this week sees the Semi-Final of Strictly 2016. It only feels like yesterday that 15 couples stepped onto the ballroom floor for the first time, and now just 4 couples remain!

This Saturday the final four couples, Claudia and AJ, Danny and Oti, Louise and Kevin and Ore and Joanne will take to the floor to fight for a place in the final! They will be dancing 2 dances this week *jumps up and down excitedly* and we cannot wait!

Earlier this evening, we found out the dances and songs the couples would be performing this week. Here’s what we think will happen:

Claudia and AJ will be dancing the Rumba to ‘Bleeding Love’ by Leona Lewis and the Quickstep to ‘When You’re Smiling’ by Andy Williams

We know that Claudia is super fast and always looks happy and beautiful in Ballroom, so have no doubt that her quickstep will leave us smiling. The Rumba is one of the hardest dances and we know that Claudia has struggled with stroking AJ in the past. She has grown so much as a performer and we have no doubt that boosted by her 10 at the weekend, she’ll do brilliantly! We hope that there will be many 10s for Team Pocket Rockets.

Danny and Oti will be dancing the Salsa to the track ‘Vivir Mi’ Vida by Marc Anthony and the American Smooth to ‘Misty Blue’ by Dorothy Moore

Danny is a strong contender and with 2 dances featuring lifts, we’re pretty sure he’ll amaze us this weekend. Week after week, Oti’s choreography has been a delight to watch week after week. We’re hoping after last week’s Tango it could see him scoring 2 perfect scores! *crosses fingers, legs and toes*

Louise and Kevin will be dancing the Samba to ‘Brazil’ by Thiago Thomé and the Tango to ‘Glad All Over’ by the Dave Clark Five

Two brilliant song choices and two great dances. Louise has shown she can do dramatic as well as happy and cheery, so we are very much looking forward to her Tango. A traditional Samba song will be a hit too. Kevin’s choreography is always crowd-pleasing and plays to his celebrity’s strengths, so we predict good things for these two. Louise’s confidence has grown so much and we predict either of these dances could score her her first perfect score of the competition.

Ore and Joanne will be dancing the Quickstep to ‘Are You Gonna Be My Girl?’ by Jet and the Argentine Tango to ‘Can’t Get You Out of My Head’ by Kylie Minogue

As a natural-born performer, Ore has impressed us with his natural rhythm and dance skill (pretty amazing as he’s had barely any dance training!) Joanne always choreographs beautiful ballroom routines, so we predict his quickstep will set the ballroom on fire. We’re very much looking forward to see another Argentine Tango and are excited to hear the Strictly Band’s arrangement of this song! We predict it could rain tens for Ore!

So that’s what we think will happen this week? With the competition so close, anyone could go home *gulps* We’d love them all to stay on to the final. Whose dances are you most looking forward to see? Who do you think will go home this weekend? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.
