It’s Day 1 of the Strictly Pro Rehearsals, which means one thing… time for our daily news bulletins bringing you the latest from the world of Planet Strictly!

Although there weren’t too many tweets today from Planet Strictly, there seemed to be a lot of excitement:

There also seemed to be some confusion too #AreWeIn2017?

*realises that if this is the case Tristan and Gleb are still on #Strictly* 😍

That ends today’s news bulletin. We’ll be back with more news from Planet Strictly tomorrow.

Good Night everyone!

Monday Makes – Glitterball Nails

Although my 7 year old may not approve of having her nails “coloured in” as she called it, we thought that for our second week of Monday Makes, making your nails shine bright like a Glitterball would be a great idea!

Sadly our camera decided to throw a hissy fit so didn’t record my video #sadface, but so you can see how I made my nails shine brighter than a glitter ball, here’s a very helpful tutorial showing you how:

*heads off to spend a day in Italy where she’s blinding people with her sparkly nails*

Have a wonderful day!

The Countdown To Strictly Challenge!

There is now just over one month until Strictly shimmies back onto our screens and Strictly Fever has well and truly hit in our house.

Strictly keeps getting better and better, and you may disagree but last year’s series (2016) was (in our eyes) the best series to date!

Over the next month, we’ll be reliving some of our favourite moments from Strictly 2016! We’ll share one moment per day and would like you to also take part! You just need to tweet your moment followed by the hashtag #CountdownToStrictlyChallenge.

Earlier this morning, we shared our favourite First Dance of 2016. For us, it has to be Judge Rinder and Oksana’s Cha Cha Cha. For us Judge Rinder’s twirls and the sheer joy he had performing this dance, as well as his commitment to the performance just made us smile. It is definitely the first dance we remember most and the one that really made us smile. In case you missed it earlier, here are Judge Rinder and Oksana with ther Cha Cha Cha:

We’d love to hear your favourite first dances from Strictly 2016. Tweet @scd_support with the hashtag #CountdownToStrictlyChallenge for a chance to take part!

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strictly 2017 – Our Very First Strictly Overheard

Strictly Fever has well and truly struck our house with my two tiny Strictly Superfans getting very excited about this year’s series.

Earlier today (after “borrowing” mummy’s iPad) Bella asked me this “Mummy, who would you like to see on Strictly 2017?”

πŸ€”πŸ™„πŸ€” After some thought I came up with two names David Tennant or Miranda Hart.

I then asked Bella who she’d like to see on Strictly *watches her pull out her Strictly notebook – yes she really has got a Strictly notebook – with a list of everyone she’d like to see on the show*

“Well, first mummy, I must point out this is not a real list, so these people may not be on Strictly, but if they are I’ll be a very happy girl:

1) Perrie or Jade from Little Mix, because they’re my favourites

2) Peppa Pig, because Elodie would like to see her on Strictly

3) The Lady from Britain’s Got Talent who’s doggy went to heaven, I can’t remember her name (She means Ashleigh)

4) Emma Watson because she is really pretty and danced as Belle in Beauty and the Beast and I liked her as Hermione in Harry Potter too.

5) Ed Sheeran, because I like him a lot.

6) Len Goodman, I’ll miss him saying Sev-ern so he should be dancing on the show instead

7) because he’s really funny.

8) Hacker.T.Dog

9) Sam and Mark or Dick and Dom from CBBC

10) Mummy *acts shocked 😱*  but I don’t really want you to be on Strictly because then I won’t be able to watch the show with you at home.  *breathes a sigh of relief as I really can’t dance*

So there you have it, Bella’s list of who she’d like to see on Strictly 2017. Who would you like to see on Strictly this year? Tweet us @scd_support or leave a comment below to let us know. We’ll leave this post as it’ll be interesting if any of Bella’s predictions – although unlikely – come true!

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Monday Makes – How to Make a Lego Glitterball!

It’s the start of the School Summer Holidays and every Monday for the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing some fab-u-lous Arts and Crafts ideas to keep your little monsters busy this Summer!

In our house Lego is extremely popular! A few weeks ago, my little Strictly Superfan asked me this:

“Mummy, How can you make a Strictly Glitterball from Lego?”

I was determined to find out how and trawled the internet to find out how to make a Lego Glitterball. We found this tutorial on a fab-u-lous page which we followed:

You can view our Youtube Video showing our Lego Glitterball being made here:

In true Blue Peter style, here’s one we made earlier:

Strictly Support Group – School’s Out For Summer Chat!

For the majority of us, School is Officially Out For Summer *watches her 7 year old dancing around excitedly.*

Tonight in honour of it being the start of the Summer Holidays, we hosted a Summer Holidays themed chat.

We began (in true Strictly Support Group style) with our Annual Yearbook Awards. Here are your winners in a handy little video form:

If you didn’t get the chance to vote in these categories, we’d love to hear some of your other categories in which you’d have put our pros against one another!

Once our awards were out of the way and done with, we moved on to ask some Holiday themed questions. We started by asking you If you could pack one Strictly performance in your suitcase, which would you choose and why? We had some brilliant suggestions from you all. Here they are:

For our second question we asked this:

We’re off to Italy soon and my 7 year old has told me she’d like to watch Strictly in Italy more than she’d like to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. If you could watch Strictly in any country where would it be?

For our final question we asked if you could borrow any Strictly outfit to wear on holiday which outfit would you choose? Here are some of our favourite answers:

That ended tonight’s chat. If you missed out don’t fear! You can still take part by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below to let us know.

We’re back tomorrow night from 8pm to reveal the next couple in the spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks.

Hope to see you then!

Strictly Couple Weeks – Sophie and Brendan – Day 2

Over the years on Strictly we have seen many memorable and fab-u-lous Argentine Tangos. In 2013, we suffered a bit of an Argentine Tango drought, with no Argentine Tango being performed until week 7 (when our couple in the limelight, Sophie and Brendan took to the floor to show us this brilliant dance.)

We had waited what felt like a life-time for an Argentine Tango and once we watched this dance we fell in love!

It was beautifully choreographed and gave us goosebumps. Sophie’s dress was gorgeous and the whole routine made us remember why we loved this dance so much. In our eyes it was slightly undermarked – it got 32/40 points but in our eyes it deserved at least 3, 9s in our opinion

In case you missed it earlier, her are Sophie and Brendan with their wonderful Argentine Tango:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strictly Couple Weeks – Sophie and Brendan – Day 1

Over the years on Strictly there have been many memorable series and our couple in the spotlight this week come from 2013, the year when Girl Power reigned supreme and 4 female celebrities reached the final.

Yes, last night, we announced Sophie and Brendan as our next couple in the Spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks series.

During their time on the show, Sophie performed some brilliant dances and achieving a score of 36/40 in Week 2 for one of the best Charlestons we have ever seen.

Always oozing class and Elegance, the ballroom was her forte and she performed some of our all-time favourite ballroom routines of all time.

For our Monday Motivation and Day 1 of our Sophie and Brendan week, we’re reliving their Charleston. For a week 2 performance it surprised and amazed us. The choreography was daring, the dancing near perfection and the performance cool, laid-back and just brilliant!

It was one of those perfect moments that we loved. In case you missed it earlier, here are Sophie and Brendan with their wonderful Charleston:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. You can either tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
