Strictly 2017 – Week 5 Predictions πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ•ΊπŸ»πŸ’ƒπŸ»

We can hardly believe that we’re already writing this post! Next week will be Halloween predictions time! *Grabs a pumpkin and coats it in glitter*

Earlier this evening we learnt the dances and songs our couples will be dancing to this week. If you want to listen to the tunes, listen to and follow our Spotify Playlist by following this link below:

Now we’ve listened to these tunes, here are our predictions on what will happen on this week’s show:

Alexandra and Gorka will dance the Samba to Shape Of You by Ed Sheeran

When we first heard this song, and it was used for the M&S summer advert, we never thought It’d be used for a Samba. We’re hoping they give it more of a Latin beat, but are sure whatever is done, Gorka will choreograph a wonderful routine which Alexandra will smash! After achieving 3 10s last week, could she match Danny’s record for 4 10s in the Samba last year? It’s possible, especially if Craig’s in a good mood!

Aston and Janette will Waltz to Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis Presley (MREE Cover)

We love this song and we love this pairing. We’re pretty sure this will be a beautiful and romantic dance. We think the song may suit a Viennese Waltz lightly better, but are sure that the band will perform their magic and it will be a beautiful routine! We predict 9s and possibly this couple’s first 10 of the series.

Brian and Amy will Jive to It’s Not Unusual by Tom Jones

Amy’s Welsh so we predict a homage to Tom Jones *wonders if Brian will dress up as a dragon this week* We love Brian and he is improving week after week, so we can’t wait to see him attempt a Jive on the Strictly dance floor. His cheeky personality will shine through in this dance. We predict it’ll score him 6s and 7s!

Davood and Nadiya perform the Jive to Tell Her About It by Billy Joel

Our memory of this song on Strictly is this pro dance:

https://youtu.be/bgpCGuUxyLk

Nadiya’s choreography has been stunning every week this year and we’re sure this dance will showcase Davood’s dancing skill. He may have been in the dance-off last week, but we’re sure this dance will make him come back fighting and may even help him achieve his highest score. We predict he’ll receive 8s and 9s for this dance.

Debbie and Giovanni dance the Rumba to Baby Can I Hold You by Tracy Chapman

Debbie is our dark horse of the competition. Week after week she surprises us and performs stunning dances. Rumba is a notoriously difficult dance, but Debbie’s very flexible and her level of control and skill as a dancer could make this the best Rumba we’ve ever seen. We predict 9s and possibly 10s for this dance. We also predict that we will definitely need a box or two of tissues and there will be a lot of tears.

Gemma and Aljaz will perform a Foxtrot to Believe by Madilyn Bailey

*Imagines the Cher Version of this dance and remembers Neil dressed in a Cher wig on It Takes Two earlier.* On a side note, this is the most beautiful arrangement of this song we’ve ever heard and we’re sure this dance will wow us. Gemma is our Journey contestant this year and keeps improving. We predict (as Shirley did) on Saturday, she’ll go a very long way. We think this dance will earn her 9s and possibly even her first 10 of the series.

Joe and Katya perform a Paso Doble to Diablo Rojo by Rodrigo y Gabriela

Ooh a good traditional Paso song combined with Katya’s choreography and Joe’s dancing ability could make a winner of a performance. Joe’s acting background will come in handy in this dance. It could be his dance! We predict 8s and 9s for this dance.

Jonnie and Oti dance the Quickstep to Part-Time Lover by Stevie Wonder

As a sportsman, Jonnie is used to a lot of speed and we think Quickstep could be his dance. We love Oti,her choreography as well as her partnership with Jonnie and predict this could be one of the dances of the night. We think there’ll be 8s and 9s for this dance.

Mollie and AJ will perform a Viennese Waltz to Anyone Who Had A Heart by Cilla Black

The last two weeks Mollie’s been in the air with an American Smooth and Salsa. This Saturday she’ll be spinning around the dancefloor like a spinning tea cup. This song is absolutely goregous and AJ’s choreography is always original. This could be her dance, if she doesn’t get too dizzy! We predict 8s and 9s for Mollie!

Ruth and Anton dance the Samba to Love Is In The Air by John Paul Young

Anton is dancing a Samba! With Ruth, on Strictly! Enough said. This could be the stuff of Strictly magic. We predict 6s and 7s for this couple.

Simon and Karen will perform a Charleston to Fit As A Fiddle (And Ready For Love) by Gene Kelly

We love Singing in the Rain and when watching it earlier this year, I did think this would make a great Charleston song. The bods at Strictly obviously are on our wavelength too! We predict a fun and fab-u-lous routine for this couple. Their mascot Lola the Unicorn *inserts picture below* will be supporting them and may even make it to Elstree in time for Saturday nigth’s show! πŸ™Š We predict 6s and 7s for this dance.

Susan and Kevin will Cha Cha to South Out To My Ex by Little Mix

This is my 7 year old’s favourite song… ever ! She thinks it’s going to be epic. I think it’ll be epic too. Susan said she’s dancing this for anyone who’s ever been dumped or heart broken. In other words, to quote my 7 year old “this will be a sassypants” dance! We cannot wait and are loving watching this couple take to the floor each week. Cha Cha is a tough dance, but we think that they’ll ace it! We predict 7s and 8s for this dance.

So those are our predictions for this weekend. Who are you most looking forward to see? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
