Those of you who follow our blog will know that every Monday this series, Bella has been sharing her best bits of the week with you.
Saturday night was the first time in a fortnight we’d watched the show together live, and Little Miss Bellaboo was quick to tell me her top 5 dances of the night. Here are Bella’s best bits (along with what she thought of the show overall):
1) Joe and Katya’s Argentine Tango
I’m not sure if the judges were watching the same dance as me because I loved this and thought it deserved a perfect 40! It was really awesome and they looked like one person dancing in a mirror. The lift at the end was unlike anything I’ve ever seen on Strictly and I’ve been watching Strictly for 4 years now (since I was 3.) I think this was the best Argentine Tango ever and I was upset the judges didn’t give them full marks.
2) Alexandra and Gorka’s Salsa
This was a real sassypants dance and I liked how Alexandra looked like she was having the time of her life dancing it. There were some really good lifts and tricks and spins. I think that a sloth would do the neck spin really well! I was really happy that Craig found his 10 paddle, because I thought he’d lost it, but that always happens. When you get another thing to replace it, the old one turns up.
3) Gemma and Aljaz’s Rumba
Mummy normally doesn’t let me watch Rumbas but she let me watch this one. Gemma looked like she was wearing a Glitterball and this dance was beautiful. It showed how much Gemma has improved as a dancer and how good she is. Rumba is a really tough dance because it’s a slow dance and Gemma did really well. I thought she deserved a 10, but I think the judges were feeling a little grumpy on Saturday night.
4) Debbie and Giovanni’s Foxtrot
There’s a Strictly Hotel on Planet Strictly! I want to go there on holiday. I love the foxtrot because it makes me happy. It’s like hot chocolate in a dance. Craig complained they were out of hold for too long, but he doesn’t realise that rules are there to be broken. I think Santa’s decided who is on the naughty list by now so Debbie and Giovanni will be safe and won’t be in trouble because they’re good dancers.
5) Mollie and AJ’s Waltz
When I grow up, I want to be able to dance a dance like this with AJ, or Gio or Kevin. Mollie’s dress was really beautiful and I think I may ask Santa for a dress like it for Christmas. It made my mummy’s eyes leak (she blamed the glitter) but I don’t know whether it was the glitter’s fault. I thought they deserved at least a 9, but maybe the judges’ eyes were leaking too so they couldn’t watch the dance properly.
Bella on the other dances:
Joe and Katya’s American Smooth – This was almost as good as Ore and Joanne’s American Smooth last year. I loved the lifts and think that Joe is as good as one of the pro dancers now.
Alexandra and Gorka’s Viennese Waltz – This dance made my mummy’s eyes leak. She blamed the sequins. It was a real princess dance and really beautiful, but I liked Mollie and AJ’s waltz more because of her dress.
Gemma and Aljaz’s Tango – This wasn’t a sassypants dance. Gemma was on fire. I loved the performance because it was very dramatic and Gemma showed off her acting skills.
Debbie and Giovanni’s Jive – It was really really fast. It wasn’t her best dance but it was a really good jive.
Mollie and AJ’s Samba – It wasn’t a disaster but was a little boring.
Bella on the dance-off:
Based on the judges’ scores, I think the right people were in the dance-off. I was sad that Mollie went home because AJ went home last year in the semi-final too.
Who is Bella’s winner this year?
I was supporting #TeamClifton but they went home. Now I would really like Joe and Katya to win because he has improved the most and has become a dancing unicorn. He can perform any dance that’s given to him and Katya’s routines always look fab-u-lous and a lot of fun.
So there you have it. Bella’s best bits from Saturday (and Sunday) night and Bella’s best bits for another year. Do you agree with her? Comment down below to let us know what you think. We look forward to hearing from you.
