It’s Day 10 of our Countdown to Strictly Challenge and today we’re sharing one of our favourite ever ballroom dances. We’re sharing a Foxtrot which left us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.
We’re sharing Judge Rinder and Oksana’s beautiful dance.
There were many fab-u-lous Foxtrots during Strictly 2016, but this one stands out with us for one reason…. Judge Rinder’s smile! Every step Judge Rinder took on the floor, he had the biggest smile, and his grin was even wider than The Cheshire Cat (who’d got the cream in this dance.)
It gave a fuzzy, warm, loveliness to his performance, which made us love him as a contestant even more.
As well as his smile, the dance was technically brilliant and Oksana’s choreography protected the Judge well!
We loved this dance. In case you missed it earlier, here it is again:

It’s Day 9 of our Countdown to Strictly Challenge and as I write this post we’re at the airport waiting for our flight home from our wonderful 2 week holiday in Italy.
Due to some blogging magic, probably by the time you read this we’ll be back in the UK *sprinkles some glitter dust*
Earlier today, we shared Our Favourite Tango of 2016 from Italy’s very own Giovanni Pernice along with his partner Laura Whitmore.
This Halloween dance saw this couple leap to the top of the leaderboard. It was full of drama, agression and everything we love about the Tango.
Giovanni’s choreography is always original but in this dance he excelled himself and created one of our favourite Tangos of Strictly history ever! As a dance they performed it at the speed of sound (faster than concorde) and it was one of the fastest tangos we’d ever seen.
Laura’s performance (don’t forget she was performing on a sprained ankle) was full of drama and wowed not just us but the judges at home.
It was one of those perfect Strictly moments which we absolutely loved! In case you missed it earlier, here it is again:

It’s Day 8 of our Countdown to Strictly challenge and today we’re reliving our favourite Waltz of 2016.
When we say the word Waltz, one dance from last year’s Strictly springs to mind, and that’s Daisy and Aljaz’s unforgettable first dance.
It was one of those magical princess moments which made us feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. It may have even moved some of us to tears *grabs her kleenex in preparation* It showed us the genuine chemistry between this couple and their beautiful and wonderful friendship.
If you missed it earlier, here are Daisy and Aljaz with their wonderful Waltz.

It’s Day 7 of our Countdown to Strictly, and earlier on our Twitter Feed, we shared our favourite Cha Cha Cha of 2016.
Yes, we had the Cha Cha Challenge, but the Cha Cha Cha which really wowed us was Danny and Oti’s Week 1 Dance.
From the moment Danny stepped onto the floor, we knew he had the potential to go all the way, and this dance was so good, it had us wondering who was the pro and who the celeb. His timing was perfect, the choreography and performance were exceptional.
We loved it and it set Danny and Oti as one of our favourites in 2016!

We love nothing more than a showdance. They are the moments which can decide the winner of a series.
Today, as part of our Countdown to Strictly challenge, we’re watching our favourite Showdance of 2016, Ore and Joanne’s beautiful ballroom dance.
Joanne was World Ballroom showdance champion, and watching this dance and her choreography it’s easy to see why.
The dance evoked everything we love about old hollywood glamour and had a true Gene Kelly feel about it. It was elegant whilst being entertaining and fun!
It took risks (with a giant set of drums) and made us want to get up and dance at home.
If you missed it earlier, here are Ore and Joanne with their brilliant showdance:

For those of you who follow us on Social Media, you’ll know, for the next month, we’ll be counting down to Strictly 2017, by reminiscing over some of our favourite Strictly moments from the past 12 months.
Today, we shared our favourite Perfect 10 Dance. There were many fantastic dances that scored a perfect 40, but today we’ve had to choose Danny and Oti’s Showdance. My 7 year old called it “the one where Oti flew and they did lots of Somersaults!”
For us, it reminded us of Oti’s wonderful choreography throughout last series and was like no other showdance we’d ever seen. It was daring and in some places death-defying! It really did impress us. In our eyes it was a moment of pure perfection. If you missed it earlier, here are Danny and Oti with their showdance:
We’d love to hear if you also loved this dance. If not, what was your favourite perfect dance of 2016? Comment below, tweet @scd_support or just holler to let us know!
We look forward to hearing from you.
It’s Day 4 of our Countdown to Strictly Challenge and today we’re sharing one of our favourite Breakthrough Dances. There are moments where during a couple’s journey everything clicks into place and their performance wows us!
Today’s performance did just that. Earlier, we watched Louise & Kevin’s Awesome Argentine Tango.
For many weeks Louise had shown she had the skills to be a brilliant dancer, but with this dance she came out and wowed us (and the judges) achieving her highest score to date – including 2 10s from the judges.
We love the Argentine Tango, and Kevin’s choreography challenged Louise. In fact, it allowed us to see a whole new side to her as a performer and we were impressed.

It’s Day 3 of our Countdown to Strictly Challenge and today we’re sharing our favourite Last Dances.
As you know we’re prone to emotional outbursts watching strictly and sometimes when a couple takes to the floor for the last time we have to reach for the box of glitterball tissues.
Last year, every couple impressed us so saying goodbye became one of the most difficult tasks. There were many last dances which were our favourites but today we’ve chosen Claudia and AJ’s Quickstep which was our favourite last dance of 2016.
It was a dance which not only showcased Claudia’s technical skill and speed as a dancer but also her progress and improvement as a performer. It was their last dance but is just pure joy in our eyes. We loved this dance and in case you missed it earlier here it is again, just for you…

Yesterday, we launched our latest challenge, a month full of fun to get us into the spirit ready for Strictly 2017!
Yesterday, we shared our favourite first dance. Today it’s the turn of the wonderful pro dancers to take centre stage, as we share our favourite pro number of 2016.
There were many fab-u-lous pro dances last year, but our favourite has to be the West Side Story dance from Musicals week.
We love Musicals and West Side Story is one of our favourites. This dance captured the spirit of the musical and we loved the choreography and overall performance. It was deserving of a place on the West End Stage or even Broadway. Even my little 7 year old loved the dance, especially when she saw what she called Karen’s Sassypants bit! We also loved the love story between Janette and Aljaz (playing Maria and Tony.) It made it one of the most beautiful pro dances ever in our opinion.
In case you missed it earlier, here are the Strictly Pros with this wonderful dance:

There is now just over one month until Strictly shimmies back onto our screens and Strictly Fever has well and truly hit in our house.
Strictly keeps getting better and better, and you may disagree but last year’s series (2016) was (in our eyes) the best series to date!
Over the next month, we’ll be reliving some of our favourite moments from Strictly 2016! We’ll share one moment per day and would like you to also take part! You just need to tweet your moment followed by the hashtag #CountdownToStrictlyChallenge.
Earlier this morning, we shared our favourite First Dance of 2016. For us, it has to be Judge Rinder and Oksana’s Cha Cha Cha. For us Judge Rinder’s twirls and the sheer joy he had performing this dance, as well as his commitment to the performance just made us smile. It is definitely the first dance we remember most and the one that really made us smile. In case you missed it earlier, here are Judge Rinder and Oksana with ther Cha Cha Cha:
