Over the years on Strictly there have been many memorable series and our couple in the spotlight this week come from 2013, the year when Girl Power reigned supreme and 4 female celebrities reached the final.
Yes, last night, we announced Sophie and Brendan as our next couple in the Spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks series.
During their time on the show, Sophie performed some brilliant dances and achieving a score of 36/40 in Week 2 for one of the best Charlestons we have ever seen.
Always oozing class and Elegance, the ballroom was her forte and she performed some of our all-time favourite ballroom routines of all time.
For our Monday Motivation and Day 1 of our Sophie and Brendan week, we’re reliving their Charleston. For a week 2 performance it surprised and amazed us. The choreography was daring, the dancing near perfection and the performance cool, laid-back and just brilliant!
It was one of those perfect moments that we loved. In case you missed it earlier, here are Sophie and Brendan with their wonderful Charleston:

So, yesterday we shared Claudia and AJ’s truly awesome Argentine Tango. Today, it’s the turn of their cheeky Charleston, performed on Movies Week – Week 3 this year.
When we first heard the theme of their Charleston, Bugsy Malone we were extremely excited and this did not disappoint. Credit to the Strictly producer who came up with this idea, because it was truly genius and matched their personalities and youthfulness perfectly!
It was a super-fast Charleston with some wonderful tricks and a brilliant swivel action. Claudia coped with the choreography wonderfully and in our eyes it was perfect and deserving of a 10! The music, hair, make-up and costumes were as ever truly brilliant and captured that 1920s and Bugsy Malone feel perfectly.
We loved it and in case you missed it earlier, here it is again:

It’s Wednesday and if you’re suffering from a bad case of the Hump Day blues, we’re pretty sure that the dance we shared earlier this morning will wash your blues away.
If you’ve been following our blog over the past few days, you’ll know I’ve let my 7 year old take over and we have been sharing some of our favourite Jeremy and Karen moments!
It’s day 3 today and we’re sharing their brilliant Charleston. It was the dance that earnt them 3 7s from the judges (forget the 3 from Craig!) and saw Jeremy channel his inner Fred Astaire in a Top Hat themed number. Karen’s choreography was imaginative whilst protecting and challenging Jeremy at the same time. The end result was 1 minute 40 seconds of pure entertainment and Strictly Gold! He even managed the swivel brilliantly! If you’re feeling down today, it’ll definitely make you smile.

So, last night on our twitter feed, we announced the latest Strictly couple to be put in the spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks.
Yes, we have chosen Team Glita and every day this week we will be sharing one of their dances. At the end of the week we’ll give you the chance to vote in a poll to crown your favourite Team Glita moment.
In case you missed it earlier, we started the week off sharing their brilliant Charleston. When we first saw this dance it proved what a fearless pairing these two were. The choreography was challenging, but brilliantly executed and we got to see the first of many Gleb Specials, moments we came to love every week we watched this couple dance.
We love couples who look like they’re having the time of their life dancing, and these two filled us with joy with every step they took on the Strictly dancefloor. This dance was a joy to watch and we’re pretty sure it’ll help motivate you and get your week started.
We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.
We’re now into the third week of our Strictly Couple Weeks and this week we’re putting Team GG in the Spotlight!
They were the dynamic duo who graced our screens in Strictly 2015 and wowed us with their energy week after week. They were a pair of pocket rockets who were the perfect partnership.
Earlier today we started off the week with their incredible Charleston. It was Chicago inspired and was so well choreographed and performed it deserved a place on the West End Stage or on Broadway.
The costumes, music, concept and choreography along with the dancing made it truly first-class and proved this couple had a real chance of lifting the glitterball. It became one of our all-time favourite Strictly routines, so it only seemed fitting to show it to kick off our Georgia and Giovanni week.
In case you missed it earlier, here is Team GG’s charleston:

Last year, one couple enchanted us week after week and wowed us with some spectacular dancing! Although they may not have lifted the glitterball, they are one of our all-time favourite Strictly couples.
The choreography this professional produced was world-class, and her celebrity partner proved he was a force to the reckoned with. They achieved the first ever perfect score for a Samba and were truly sensational from Week 1 all the way through the series.
Yes, we’re talking about Team Doti, Danny and Oti!
Every day this week, we’ll be sharing one of their dances. On Sunday, we’ll unveil the final dance and will open up a poll to help us decide the best Danny and Oti moment ever!
Today, it’s time for their awesome Charleston which scored a perfect 40/40 in Blackpool. It had flair, was fab-u-lously fast and truly captured what Strictly is all about. Not only was the choreography and dancing spectacular, Danny was so good he looked just as good at one of the professionals.
Here is their Charleston just for you!
We’ll be back tomorrow to unveil another dance in Danny and Oti week! We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below.
So, over the past week you have been casting your votes to choose your favourite perfect scoring Foxtrot and American Smooths!
Thank you for all your votes. They have been counted, checked and verified by this fella. We can’t help but think he was feeling a little grumpy on the day we asked him to help us:
We can now reveal that the two couples making their way to the final are Lisa and Brendan and Ali and Bryan!
Now it’s time to reveal our next two categories, The Charleston and Viennese Waltz. All you need to do is watch the playlists below then cast your vote in the polls below that. You can vote once a day for your favourite couples. We’ll then put the top two couples straight through into the final, where they will battle it out to be crowned the best perfect scoring dance on Strictly ever! Voting will remain open until 6pm next Sunday when the vote will be frozen again before we reveal the results and the next couples who will head off to the final!
Mummy says I’m very lucky, because I’ve never ever had to have an X-Ray! She says it’d make me look a little like Steve and Ola did in their Charleston! I wouldn’t mind that because I really liked that dance.
Today, x is for x-ray. I’ve chosen Steve and Ola’s Charleston, because although it wasn’t perfect, I really liked their costumes and outfits! I have pyjamas that are like their outfits! They looked like they were having lots of fun too and there were some great lifts which look like lots of fun! I might ask daddy to try lifting me like that later today.
I think they deserved higher scores! I’d have given them at least an 8 because the dance looked fun but also looked really difficult too.
Here are Steve and Ola with their tricky bone-filled Charleston. If you have a doggy, don’t let them watch it, because they might want to eat your computer which wouldn’t be good.
Let us know what you thought of this dance. Mummy asks if you found it humerus (I don’t understand what she means, I don’t think it’s funny) or not. You can tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
*Provides readers with earplugs* Today’s Monday Memory is proof that Mondays can be a Happy Day and don’t have to be blue, dreary or dull, dull, dull (take note Craig Revel Horwood!)
We’re taking you back to the moment Kevin from Grimsby turned into the Fonz and performed a fun, fab-u-lous and fantastic Charleston with Frankie on Strictly 2014.
We loved this dance for several reasons:
1) We loved the 50s style and concept – Frankie’s dress was amazing, Kevin became king of the quiff(tons) and the diner set was fantastic!
2) The music – It instantly put us in a good mood! We’re showing our age, but loved watching repeats of Happy Days growing up and this brings back so many memories.
3) The choreography – Kevin’s choreography was imaginative, and even if the lift may have gone a tincy bit wrong 🙈, we still loved it!
4) The dancing – who’d have thought a 50s Charleston would work. It really did and truly made us smile! The whole routine and the dancing were fab-u-lous!
We hope you enjoy watching this dance. Here are Frankie and the Fonz from Grimsby Kevin from Grimsby with their Happy Days inspired Charleston. We hope it makes you smile and scream HAPPY DAYS:
