So last week, we launched the Ultimate Strictly Challenge to help us decide the best Perfect Scoring dance in the history of Strictly!
Week one’s categories were The Waltz and the Cha Cha Cha. It saw Lisa and Brendan and Caroline and Pasha battle it out for the crown of Cha Cha Cha Champion and Matt and Flavia and Abbey and Aljaz battle it out for the crown of Waltz winners.
Thank you all for your votes. They have been checked, counted and verified and we can now reveal that the couples winning their places in the Ultimate Strictly Challenge final are *drumroll and does a samba to create suspense* are Lisa and Brendan Representing the Cha Cha Cha and Abbey and Aljaz representing the waltz. Well done to both couples. We’ll see you in the final.
Now we can move onto decide week two’s categories! This week we have chosen to let Tangos and Jives battle it out against one another! All you need to do is watch these four videos then vote for your favourite from each dance style in the polls below! You can vote in each poll once a day up until next Sunday at 6pm when the vote will be frozen once again.
Keep voting and Keep dancing people! All your favourites need your votes.
We love watching Strictly and reminiscing about some of our favourite moments. Today’s Throwback Thursday is no exception. We’re going all the way back to 2006 (when some of our youngest fans weren’t even born!)
We admit to being closet Spice Girls fans, so when Emma Bunton appeared in series 4, we were huge supporters of her and Darren Bennett, who made it all the way to the semi-final.
Our dance today is their first competitive dance together, the Quickstep, where they topped the leaderboard and made a great first impression scoring a magnificent 33/40.
This dance was not only fast, but elegant, rhythmical and technically very good. We loved the Hollywood Glamour feel of the routine and hope you will too. Here are Emma and Darren with their fab-u-lous and fast Quickstep:
We hope you enjoyed watching that dance and would love to hear what you thought of it. Tweet @scd_support, or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.
Yesterday we were well and truly spoilt by Santa, ate loads and spent lots of time surrounded by those we love!
For that reason today we’re chilling out and no dance sums up the chilled out vibe better than a fabulous Foxtrot.
For today’s Foxtrot Friday, we’re going back in the archives to watch Letitia Dean and Darren Bennett’s fabulous festive Foxtrot. Although Letitia didn’t win the Christmas special, this dance was true class and magical.
We loved the music, costumes, choreography and dancing and in our opinion it is worthy of tens! We loved it and hope you will too. Here are Letitia and Darren with their Festive Foxtrot:
Have a wonderful Boxing Day! Our next chat will be on Sunday especially for our 1st Birthday.
For today’s Throwback Thursday, we’re watching a Jive from the archives. We can hardly believe that this dance (which became the first dance to score a perfect 40/40) was performed nearly 10 years ago!
We’re showing you our favourite Blackpool performances this week, and no list would be complete without the incredible Jive from Jill and Darren.
Not only was she wearing pink (one of our favourite colours) but the choreography was tricky and they bounced around the Blackpool floor like little Easter bunnies! It was fast, fun and fab-u-lous! They made it look really easy and, like the judges, we just sat down and enjoyed the performance at home.
We really love this dance and it sparked our interest in learning Ballroom and Latin. With it being nearly 10 years since they performed it, it seemed the perfect tribute for Throwback Thursday. Here are Jill and Darren with their final Jive:

Just one more dance to reveal tomorrow, then we’ll pop a poll on here so we can decide your favourite Blackpool performance. The winner will be revealed on Sunday’s results show.
We know it’s Tango Tuesday, but in honour of such a brave lady, we decided to rip up the rule book today. For us, the best of her dances was her Paso Doble, so today we’ve decided to show it to you as your Strictlified treat. For us, this dance was dramatic, passionate and fiery, showing Lynda’s brave and courageous personality. We loved it and think it’s a fitting tribute to the lady who was mum to so many. Here are Lynda and Darren with their Paso Doble. We hope you enjoy it:
We’d love this post to become a tribute to Lynda Bellingham. Comment with your tributes for her below.
Today we watched a dance from a super brave lady. You’ve probably heard about Lynda Bellingham and we think she’s super brave for what she’s doing, but this dance from her and Darren Bennett in 2009.
Although not technically perfect, this Tango was super dramatic and full of passion and aggression. Considering it was only from week 1, it was truly dramatic and showed guts and bravery. We loved it and hope you do too. Here are Lynda and Darren with their Tango:

Yesterday, we danced our little feet off size 6 and not so little feet off, so today we’re taking it easy and not partaking in any dancing. Instead, we’re taking you all the way back to 2006 to watch Emma Bunton and Darren Bennett’s superb spinny American Smooth. It seems hard to believe this dance was performed nearly 8 years ago.
When watching this dance back we were impressed by the speed of the routine, the death defying lifts (which had more spins and ups and downs than a rollercoaster at a theme park!) and beautiful choreography all of which Emma handled like a pro! They received a respectable score of 34, however in our books, we think they deserved 4 10s.
We loved this performance and think it was one of those magical Strictly Moments, where music, dancing, choreography, costume, hair and make-up all came together to give an amazing effect. It was a traditional American Smooth and we hope you enjoy watching it, but before you do, here are some anti-sickness tablets, incase (like us) the spinning lifts make you dizzy. Here are Emma and Darren with their amazing American Smooth:

Yesterday marked a very special occasion in the history of the Strictly Support Group. We are officially 6 months old! Not only was it our half-birthday, but it was also @strictly_steph’s birthday, so it was a double celebration for us Strictly fans.
Once we’d baked a cake, we showed you two fabulous dances. The first was a sizzling Samba to get us in the party mood. We chose Emma Bunton and Darren Bennett’s dance from Series 4. This dance was saucy, sensual and had a real Carnival atmosphere that took us to Brazil. We loved it and hope you do too:
We then moved on to celebrating Steph’s birthday with her favourite routine from Strictly, Aljaz and Janette’s beautiful routine to Forever Young! This routine had us in tears it was flawless as well as being so romantic and magical. We loved it and I think Steph did too. Here it is (along with some tissues) incase you missed it:
We hope you enjoyed your double strictly fix! Don’t forget if you have a birthday coming up and would like a glittery tweet, please let us know and we’ll make your dreams come true with a strictly fix.
Bruising your kidney is not much fun, however we’re still standing and determined to cure your (and our) hump day blues through the medium of dance!
For today’s Wednesday Warm-Up, we’re preparing you for this weekend’s fun with the fabulous Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett’s Jive, which became the first ever dance on Strictly to achieve a perfect 40 (wowsers!)
It has been the benchmark for all Jives since, and is one of our favourites (our personal favourite is green and features a certain Mr Kovalev dressed up as an Ogre.) We were speechless watching Jill and Darren Jive. It was one of those magical moments when Music, Dance and Performance came together to make sheer perfection. It was also very hard to tell Jill was a celebrity rather than a professional.
We loved it, and hope you do too. Here it is for you to enjoy once more, Jill and Darren’s Jive:
As always, we want to hear what you think of that dance. Tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know.
