We love nothing more than a showdance. They are the moments which can decide the winner of a series.
Today, as part of our Countdown to Strictly challenge, we’re watching our favourite Showdance of 2016, Ore and Joanne’s beautiful ballroom dance.
Joanne was World Ballroom showdance champion, and watching this dance and her choreography it’s easy to see why.
The dance evoked everything we love about old hollywood glamour and had a true Gene Kelly feel about it. It was elegant whilst being entertaining and fun!
It took risks (with a giant set of drums) and made us want to get up and dance at home.
If you missed it earlier, here are Ore and Joanne with their brilliant showdance:

We look forward to hearing from you.
So earlier today we shared with you a truly roarsome and pawsome dance from Team Pocket Rocket. Yes, we reminded you of their wonderful Musicals Week Lion King inspired Salsa.
When we first watched this dance, it left us bursting with pride. Claudia shone all way through the performance, and admittedly they were the cutest pairing on the dancefloor in their lion costumes, but the Salsa was filled with content and lots of great and fearless tricks.
They truly deserved their very first 10 from Bruno, and in our eyes the other judges should have awarded them at 10 too. I remember my 6 year old watching the dance and saying “Craig had better give them a 10 because if they’re lions they could eat him and that wouldn’t be very nice!” Sadly, some things never change and Craig’s 10 paddle stayed gathering dust under the judges’ desk, but in our eyes it wll always be a perfect 10 and one of those moments when music, concept, costume, choreography and performance all come together to give a magical moment on the Strictly Dancefloor.
In case you missed it earlier, here are Claudia and Aj with their Salsa:

It’s the Weekend and we’re pretty sure this weekend’s going to be a thriller!
As part of our Jeremy and Karen themed week, we’re reliving their spookily zombified salsa from Halloween Week 2015.
When we first watched this, my then 5 year old was convinced that Jeremy and Karen had both been baking and got icing sugar and flour over their faces. Yes, she didn’t quite understand the idea of a zombie but she loved the dance, as did we!
There were all the elements of a great halloween salsa including brilliant costumes and make-up as ever, great music, and brilliant choreography (with the obligatory nods to thriller too!)
It was a true thriller and we were really thrilled when Craig awarded them a 4 (I think their reaction deserved a glitterball in itself!)

It’s Saturday and whilst i wait for my little Strictly fan to finish her dance classes, I’m enjoying a sit down in a nearby Cafe. Part of me secretly hopes that a dancer like Giovanni will serve me, just so I can attempt (albeit badly) today’s Team GG week dance.
Yes, today we’ve chosen their sensational Samba set in a street side cafe! When we first saw this dance it wowed us and became one of our favourite dances of Strictly 2015. It had energy, speed and more bounce than the Easter bunny.
We love Giovanni’s choreography and thought that this dance was original and adventurous. Georgia pulled off his challenging choreography with ease and the performance was in our eyes sensational! We loved it!
In case you missed it earlier, here it is again just for you:

It’s the weekend and that can only mean one thing here at Strictly Support Group HQ, it’s time for a Samba or Salsa to help us shimmy into Saturday with style and Sparkle.
When we chose to put Danny and Oti in the spotlight it seemed natural to pick THE dance of Strictly 2016, yes the very first ever Perfect Scoring Samba. It had us cheering, shimmying and watching on in awe from our sofas.
It had a tribal feel which we loved and technically it was one of those moments of perfection which words cannot describe. When we saw them achieve a perfect 40, we may have screamed so loudly that our neighbour popped round to make sure we were ok! (Oops!)

It’s Saturday which can mean one thing! It’s time for us to shake and shimmy like nobody’s watching. Yes, it’s Samba time!
Unless you’ve been in hiding over the past week, you’ll know that this week saw the launch of our Strictly Couple Weeks. This week it’s the turn of us to remember some of the wonderful dances from Zoe and Ian!
Today, we’re reliving their sambalicious *wonders if that’s a real word* Samba which is one of our all-time favourite Strictly routines! It was full of flair, feathers and fancy footwork.
We absolutely loved it and are pretty sure you will too. Here it is just for you:
Tomorrow we’ll reveal the final dance from Zoe and Ian before opening up a poll to help us decide the best Zoe and Ian dance of all time!
Don’t forget to let us know what you thought of this dance. You can comment below or tweet @scd_support to tell us what you think!
Have a samba-filled Saturday!
It’s day 6 of our 100 Sparkly Days of Strictly! Yesterday we saw some truly fab-u-lous objects. Today we’re asking you to share your favourite dance quote or saying!
Lots of dance quotes remind us instantly of Strictly. They sum up so many of the things we love about our favourite show. This is our favourite:
It goes to show that being the best dancer isn’t what matters, it’s all about having fun along the way and reminds us of so many of our favourite couples and their journey on the show.
What are your favourite dance quotes? Tell us for a shoutout!
Having a very young animal lover at home
, we are pleased to report that Kevin the Kangaroo has now got new glasses (phew!) and for today’s news bulletin, we’re channeling one of our favourite shows, Springwatch. As our bulletin relates to our lovely pro dancers, we’re renaming it Pro-Watch.
Somewhere deep in a rehearsal studio, today our pros started their 6th day of rehearsals. There seemed to be a lot of excitement surrounding this, as a couple of our pros and the creative director tweeted first thing this morning:
It’d seem that our pros worked very hard, some of them even during their lunch too:
It’d also seem that all this hard work has made it a little bit of a manic monday in the rehearsal studio, with our pros tweeting some super fun and crazy antics in the training room. Antics just like these:
These really made us smile and we definitely think that Sugar and Spice should get to number 1 in the charts with their singing
That’s all the news to report from the training rooms today. We can definitely report that today has been a manic monday and we wonder what’ll happen tomorrow. Keep an eye on here for more training room updates and gossip as it happens.
Now, I’m heading off to my nest for the night, but I’ll be back tomorrow for another Strictly pro-watch bulletin.
