Bella Reviews – Karen and Kevin Dance Live! πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸ¦„πŸ’ƒπŸ»

Those of you who follow the blog will know that my seven year-old, Bella, is one of Strictly’s smallest superfans and is also a huge fan of Team Clifton!

The tooth fairy was very kind to little Bella, and bought her tickets for not just one of their shows, but two! On Friday night, we went galavanting into Guildford and then yesterday evening we went wombling into Wimbledon!

Here is what she thought of the show in her own words:

I love Kevin and Karen as much as I love unicorns and Strictly (note from mummy, that’s lots!) so I was really happy and excited to be seeing them this weekend. On Friday night, I went with my mummy, daddy and little sister Elodie and yesterday Mummy took me and my best friend from school and my grandma to see it.

Everyone needs to see this show, it is amazing, awesome, fab-u-lous, sparkly and magical and if you don’t go to see if you are missing out. If you have already seen the show, you need to see it again, because it just gets better and better.

It tells the story of Kevin and Karen and is a bit of a love story but also shows through dancing how they got into dance. My favourite bit had to be Kevin pretending to dance when he was little, it was really funny and I couldn’t stop laughing, but I also loved their Paso Doble. Mummy tells me the Paso Doble is from Spain, but I think she’s wrong; it’s from Grimsby. Kevin is the Paso King and Karen, the Paso Queen.

The costumes and music are beautiful and all the girls looked like princesses in their outfits!

If I were judging the show on Strictly, I’d give it 4 10s and a Glitterball because it is awesome! It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside like a hot chocolate does and I think this show would make even a really grumpy person smile a lot!

So there you have it, Bella’s review of Karen and Kevin Dance. I have to say it is one of the most well-choreographed, directed and danced shows we have ever seen. It’ll make you laugh so much your cheeks ache, there are moments which’ll make you cry and moments which just leave you mesmerised. If you’ve been to see the show too, we’d love to hear what you thought of it. Simply tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strictly 2016 – Who we think will lift the Glitterball this weekend!

img_8038-8

This SaturdayΒ Danny and Oti, Louise and Kevin and Ore and JoanneΒ will take to the floor to be crowned the Strictly Come Dancing Champion 2016!

This series has been truly phenomenal and all three couples have impressed us on the dance floor! Here are our verdicts on each of the couples and their chances of winning the Glitterball!

Danny and Oti

Danny has been Mr Consistent. Week after week he has impressed us with his ability. From the start of the competition he looked like a professional and it has become increasingly difficult to tell him apart from the professional dancers in group routines as the show has progressed.

Otis choreography this year has really excited us and having such a talented partner as Danny she has been able to give us some truly magical moments! He has moved with style, flair and panache and week after week he has looked just like Fred Astaire!

We have loved watching him perform on the show and think that he is a deserving winner of the glitter ball for his ability, hard work and the magic he has produced on the dance floor with Oti!

Louise and Kevin

From the start, we knew that Louise would go far as she was in the very safe hands of Kevin! This will be his fourth final in a row, surely that in itself is deserving of a glitter ball?

Louise’s musicality has been amazing. Yes, she is a musician and a singer but learning a new skill cannot be easy.

On another note, Louise has transformed as a performer. From a shy performer in the first group dance to a dancer capable of performing that incredible quickstep in the musicals week special. The growth in her confidence and her development as a performer has been truly incredible. It’s testament to Kevin’s wonderful teaching and being such an encouraging professional.

For growth as a performer and musicality, we think Louise could lift the Glitterball!

Ore and Joanne

Unlike the other two finalists, Ore has never had any dance training. He has proven his ability as a dancer through his ability to connect with the style of the dance and produce a convincing performance week after week.

His friendship with Joanne has shown through in every performance and it even led them to get a brilliant tribute from Gene Kelly’s wife after their American Smooth. We have loved watching Ore develop as a dancer and week after week he has surprised and amazed us!

For natural performance ability Ore could lift the Glitterball!

So, who do we think will lift the Glitterball? Well, we would love to see Danny and Oti lift the Glitterball as they have been the frontrunners for us from the very beginning. All we can say is whoever wins or lifts the glitter ball on Saturday they will truly deserve it and we’d be happy with the glitter ball making its way to Grimsby too!

Who would you like to see lift the Glitterball? Just vote in this poll below to tell us. We look forward to hearing from you:

Strictly 2016 – Bella’s Q&A with @karen_hauer @keviclifton

Those of you who know my 6 year old will know that there is nothing she loves more than Strictly, Dancing and of course Unicorns!

A few months ago she asked me if she could write some posts on my blog. One of her requests was to do a “proper interview like the news people do” with her favourite professional dancer, Karen Clifton. She kindly agreed to take part, which meant I had one very happy six year old girl!

She began by asking them this. What can we expect from Strictly 2016?

You can expect lots of exciting new pro numbers and lots of energy from the new pro dancers!

It sounds like it’s going to be epic! The Strictly cast of 2016 have all been announced & I’m getting excited! Of the celebrities who will be dancing on Strictly 2016 who would you like to be paired with most?

Karen: I would love to be paired with someone who is not afraid to be themselves and embrace all things Strictly!

I really want to be a dancer on Strictly when I grow up. What advice would you give to someone like me wanting to be a dancer.

Always work hard and keep practicising!

And as my mummy always tells me, eat your greens and listen to your dance teacher.

What makes a good dancer for you?

Karen: I love dancers that tell a story through their movement!

What’s your favourite song to dance to and what’s your favourite dance?

Karen: This is really hard. I love all songs. It’s too hard to pick one. Same for picking a favourite dance although I do enjoy a quirky Charleston!

You’re opening up a dance school soon and have taught lots of people to dance. What’s the best thing about teaching people to dance and who’s been your best student?

Kevin and I love teaching, specially kids. It’s great for their health, confidence and overall happiness.

All of our students have been the absolute best.

Thank you Karen for taking part and answering Bella’s tough questions! The Strictly 2016 Launch show is on the 3rd September, so just 9 sleeps away! We can’t wait!

30 Day Challenge – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly – W is for Wicked!

It’s Tuesday and time for me to show you a Tango. I’m going to the theatre with my mummy tonight so today I decided to show you a Wicked theatrical tango which was green!

W is for Wicked

Today I’ve chosen to watch Frankie and Kevin’s Tango from last year on Strictly. I liked this tango lots because it was Wicked. Frankie and Kevin both had lots of sparkles on their costumes. I liked the music and it made me want to dance. Tangos are supposed to look grumpy (according to Mummy) and these two pulled better Paso Faces than I can pull when Mummy tells me I can’t have sweeties.

I also liked this dance because Frankie flew at the end! Strictly is magical just like Unicorns and Kevin taught Frankie to fly.

I really liked this dance, even though Frankie looked green. It was fab-u-lous. Like Donny, I’d have given them a 10 too!

Here are Frankie and Kevin with their awesome and wicked Tango. Enjoy:

I’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Tweet me @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.

30 Day Challenge – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly. R is for Rumba!

I’m only 5, so normally if there’s a Rumba on Strictly, Mummy tells me to close my eyes, because the Rumba isn’t a nice dance for little girls to watch. Last year, I was allowed to watch one Rumba and I really liked it!

I was allowed to watch Frankie and Kevin’s Rumba last year. I liked Frankie’s dress as she looked like a Ballerina and with Kevin together they looked like they were out of a Fairytale.

I liked the music and the dancing as well *sucks thumb* it had a good story to it and the dancing looked beautiful. I would have given it a 10 like Bruno, but the other judges didn’t like it as much. I think I need to tell them when to put out their 10 paddle this year, especially Craig!

If this is what all Rumbas are like, I don’t know why mummy doesn’t always let me watch them *stomps feet and pulls a paso face.* Here are Frankie and Kevin with their beautiful Rumba:

I hope you liked watching that dance. I’d love to hear what you liked about it. Tweet @scd_support or comment below to let me know. I look forward to hearing from you.

30 Day Challenge – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly. Day 11 – K is for @karen_hauer @keviclifton @krihanoff

K is for kittens Karen, Kevin and Kristina.

You probably know by now that as well as Strictly, I also love cats! Mummy says I’ll be the crazy cat lady when I’m older. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fun.

I wanted to write a post about kittens, but *pulls paso face and stomps feet*  I’ve been told that it has to be Strictly related, so today I’m writing about 3 of my favourite professional dancers Karen, Kevin and Kristina!

I only started watching Strictly when I was 3 (2 years ago) but I think these three professionals are three of the kindest professionals. They’re always patient and always get the best out of the celebrities they dance with. They also choreograph (creative) routines that look like lots of fun to dance. They make Strictly look like a party which we all want to join in with at home *starts attempting the Jive.*

They are also really lovely to their fans, are amazing dancers (I want to dance like them when I’m older) and mummy says they’re great role models for all the girls and boys who love Strictly (like me!)

Kevin and Karen are both world record holders because they’re such amazing dancers and Kristina won the Strictly Tour 2015 trophy with Simon this year. I think they all deserve a glitterball for being amazing. Karen, Kevin and Kristina, here is your glitterball. It’s yummy too. Hope you enjoy it!

Here are some kittens of my favourite Karen, Kevin and Kristina moments on Strictly:

I’ll be back tomorrow for the next letter in my Strictly alphabet. The letter L!

*waves* Bye!

30 Day Challenge – Day 5 – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly. E is for…

My mummy is really silly sometimes!

This morning, I asked her what word beginning with E she felt best summed up Strictly. She told me Elephant! 🐘

I’ve never seen elephants on Strictly before but I think if they did, they’d dance like this:
I then asked her if she was sure and she told me that she meant elegant, silly mummy!

Today’s post is brought to you by the letter E. E is for Elegant! Mummy told me what this word meant and I think there have been lots of elephant elegant routines on Strictly.

For me, the Foxtrot is the most elegant. It looks simple and always looks good on the Strictly dancefloor.

My favourite Foxtrot is this one from Frankie and Kevin last year. I liked it because it looked fab-u-lous on the dancefloor. My ballet teacher always tells me that we need to be graceful like swans and they looked graceful.

I liked Frankie’s dress and wonder if she’ll let me borrow it for Jasmine’s party on Sunday. It also had lots of food in the dance. I like picnics *begs mummy to take her for a picnic next week* and cake! Here are Frankie and Kevin with their Foxtrot for today’s Foxtrot Friday! E is for Elegant:

I hope you enjoyed that dance. I’d like to know which Foxtrots you think are most Elegant on Strictly. Let me know by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. I’ll be back tomorrow for another dance!   Bella!

Strictly Support Group – The Election (Day 7!) Polling Day is Here!

Earlier this morning, we revealed our final two candidates in our Strictly Support Group General Election! We love the Charleston and today’s two candidates were pure gold! One triumphed for having a cool, laid-back vibe and the other was quirky, cheeky and pure entertainment! They are Sophie and Brendan’s and Chris and Ola’s fab-u-lous Charlestons!

Watching these dances, it’s easy to see why they both deserve their places in the Election:

1) Every election needs a peoples’ champion, and this dance helped Chris and Ola win Strictly 2009. It was cheeky, quirky and captured Chris’s personality perfectly. Both he and Ola looked adorable, in fact more adorable than your favourite politician holding a baby or a puppy or a kitten or something cute!

2) Being a politician is all about remaining cool under pressure and Sophie and Brendan did this perfectly. There

were risky lifts, acrobatics and super fast choreography. All of these were performed perfectly in WEEK 2! The whole routine was brilliant and is deserving of a place in our election for being the leader of the pack. We loved both of them and hope you will too, so here are both dances we showed earlier:

Sophie and Brendan’s Charleston

Chris and Ola’s Charleston.

Now you’ve seen all our dances, here’s a reminder of the candidates (in video form):

You’ve watched and now all that needs to be done is to vote. We are pleased to reveal that voting is now OPEN! *Does a dance like our pros do on Claud 9* You have until 3pm tomorrow to cast your vote for our Strictly Support Group Prime Minister. Just choose your favourite from the poll below. We’ll reveal the result tomorrow evening from 7pm. Get voting people!

Strictly Support Group – The Election (Day 5!)

What do you get if you mix one of the most iconic ballrooms of the world with traditional music and choreography? *hears her brain cogs making a funny noise* Easy! The best ever Paso Doble to have ever been performed at Blackpool  on Strictly Come Dancing, ever!

We couldn’t run a Strictly Support Group General Election without a journalist, so the 5th Candidate in our Ballroom General Election is The Paso Doble from Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton!

There are several reasons we have chosen this dance as one of our candidates in the election:

1) It was record-breaking – the applause from the crowd broke the loudest ever applause heard on British TV

2) It is, in our opinion the best ever Paso Doble to have been performed on Strictly – It had great music, choreography, drama, passion, story-telling, all the atmosphere of a Spanish bullfight and Kevin from Grimsby in very tight trousers 😍 What more could you ask for from a dance on Strictly?

3) It was our favourite routine of Strictly 2013 and showed how much Susanna had progressed from day 1. It also showed that Kevin is an awesome teacher and choreographer. It really deserved 4 10’s in our opinion (take note Mr Revel Horwood!)

We loved it and hope you will too! Here are Susanna Reid and Kevin from Grimsby with their wonderful Paso Doble:

We hope you enjoyed watching that dance and would love to hear what you thought of it. You can tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.

So Susanna and Kevin join Gethin and Camilla, Mark and Iveta, Alesha and Matthew and Chelsee and Pasha as candidates in our Strictly Support Group Election. Who will be the final two candidates? Join us tomorrow to find out.
