30 Day Challenge – Bella’s Smooth Sunday Dance Off!

Our #30daychallenge is almost over. Today, we’re having a #smoothsundaydanceoff! We’ve chosen 2 dances. You have to vote your favourite.
The youngest Strictly Fan in the household, Elodie is getting Christened today, so she’ll be getting a little wet, and hopefully singing in the rain. Today we’re showing you two dances which are performed to the same song “Singing in the Rain!” One is from this side of the pond, the other is from the U S of A. When you’ve watched them both let us know your favourite by commenting below. We’ll then reveal the winner at 7pm tonight!
Our 1st dance is from Jason & Kristina and it’s their fab-u-lous American smooth:

Our 2nd dance is a Jazz routine from Derek Hough and Bethany Mota on Dancing with the stars. We want to see this dance style on Strictly next year!

Now you’ve seen them both let us know which one is your favourite! Comment to let us know. We’ll reveal the winner at 7pm!

Puttin’ On The Ritz (@theritztour) a review by @janelottering

When we heard there was a new Strictly inspired show coming to the New Wimbledon Theatre, we were keen to go, but were gutted when we found out we couldn’t make the dates (#sadface 😞.) The lovely Jane went along and agreed to review the show for us.

Puttin on the Ritz New Wimbledon Theatre

Starring Robin Windsor Kristina Rihanoff Trent Whiddon Gordanna Whiddon and Pixie Lott

Puttin on the Ritz, is a mixture of music dance and song, covering the 1930’s 40s and 50’s. With music and songs from the amazing George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin.

A group of dancers take us through the above decades with toe tapping hand clapping songs. With wonderful performances from Strictly’s Robin Windsor, Kristina Rihanoff, Trent and Gordana Whiddon and Strictly contender Pixie Lott. There’s not just one highlight, but a series of fab-u-lous routines throughout the whole show.

This makes for an enjoyable and fun evening for all lovers of good music and dance, of all ages.

The whole show sounds amazing & being a huge fan of the 1940s and 1950s we want to go now! Putting on the RItz is now embarking on a Tour around the Uk. For full dates and information, please visit http://www.puttinontheritztour.com

If you’re going to the show or have been, we’d love to hear what you think/thought of it. Just tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

30 Day Challenge – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly. Day 11 – K is for @karen_hauer @keviclifton @krihanoff

K is for kittens Karen, Kevin and Kristina.

You probably know by now that as well as Strictly, I also love cats! Mummy says I’ll be the crazy cat lady when I’m older. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fun.

I wanted to write a post about kittens, but *pulls paso face and stomps feet*  I’ve been told that it has to be Strictly related, so today I’m writing about 3 of my favourite professional dancers Karen, Kevin and Kristina!

I only started watching Strictly when I was 3 (2 years ago) but I think these three professionals are three of the kindest professionals. They’re always patient and always get the best out of the celebrities they dance with. They also choreograph (creative) routines that look like lots of fun to dance. They make Strictly look like a party which we all want to join in with at home *starts attempting the Jive.*

They are also really lovely to their fans, are amazing dancers (I want to dance like them when I’m older) and mummy says they’re great role models for all the girls and boys who love Strictly (like me!)

Kevin and Karen are both world record holders because they’re such amazing dancers and Kristina won the Strictly Tour 2015 trophy with Simon this year. I think they all deserve a glitterball for being amazing. Karen, Kevin and Kristina, here is your glitterball. It’s yummy too. Hope you enjoy it!

Here are some kittens of my favourite Karen, Kevin and Kristina moments on Strictly:

What are your favourite moments from Karen, Kevin and Kristina? Let me know by commenting below or tweeting @scd_support.

I’ll be back tomorrow for the next letter in my Strictly alphabet. The letter L!

*waves* Bye!

Salsa Saturday – Cats Can Dance! (A post by Bella – aged 5!)

Tonight mummy will let me take over the Strictly Support Group to host a chat from 7.30pm. It’s past my normal bedtime, but I’ve just had a nap so I won’t fall asleep I promise!

This morning, I told mummy cats can dance. She seemed suspicious and didn’t believe me. Then I showed her this dance where there was a real cat on Strictly! *looks up to see how cinnamon the kitten can take part this year.*

It was a salsa which had lots of feathers and glitter, as well as a real cat which I loved! I hope you will love it too. Here are Kristina (although I think it’s really a cat) and someone called Colin (I don’t remember him as I was only a tiny baby when he performed:)

I hope you liked watching this dance. I’ll be here from 7.30pm with a Princess themed chat. See you later alligators (not real alligators, because they scare me!)

Happy Caturday People!

Strictly Support Group – The Election (Day 7!) Polling Day is Here!

Earlier this morning, we revealed our final two candidates in our Strictly Support Group General Election! We love the Charleston and today’s two candidates were pure gold! One triumphed for having a cool, laid-back vibe and the other was quirky, cheeky and pure entertainment! They are Sophie and Brendan’s and Chris and Ola’s fab-u-lous Charlestons!

Watching these dances, it’s easy to see why they both deserve their places in the Election:

1) Every election needs a peoples’ champion, and this dance helped Chris and Ola win Strictly 2009. It was cheeky, quirky and captured Chris’s personality perfectly. Both he and Ola looked adorable, in fact more adorable than your favourite politician holding a baby or a puppy or a kitten or something cute!

2) Being a politician is all about remaining cool under pressure and Sophie and Brendan did this perfectly. There

were risky lifts, acrobatics and super fast choreography. All of these were performed perfectly in WEEK 2! The whole routine was brilliant and is deserving of a place in our election for being the leader of the pack. We loved both of them and hope you will too, so here are both dances we showed earlier:

Sophie and Brendan’s Charleston

Chris and Ola’s Charleston.

Now you’ve seen all our dances, here’s a reminder of the candidates (in video form):

You’ve watched and now all that needs to be done is to vote. We are pleased to reveal that voting is now OPEN! *Does a dance like our pros do on Claud 9* You have until 3pm tomorrow to cast your vote for our Strictly Support Group Prime Minister. Just choose your favourite from the poll below. We’ll reveal the result tomorrow evening from 7pm. Get voting people!

Strictly Support Group – The Election, Day 6!

It’s Tango Tuesday today and Day 6 of our General Election. There are lots of similarities between the General Election and the Tango. Both are filled with drama, tension and agression. They are a fight for survival of the fittest and today’ s Tango Tuesday fix is the leader of the pack! In fact, even Simba feels threatened, it was so good:

“Wow! They’re roarsome. I could never do that with my two left feet!”

Don’t fear Simba, you may not be an amazing dancer but you are an amazing hunter. Today’s candidates however are amazing dancers and this Tango IS the best tango of series 12! We’re watching Simon Webbe and Kristina Rihanoff’s brilliant Argentine Tango from Blackpool last year.

There are several reasons we have chosen this dance as a candidate in the Strictly Support Group General Election:

1) It had more mood, atmosphere, tension and passion than Prime Minister’s question time!

2) The choreography and dancing were fab-u-lous and prize winning. When it was performed at the tour it helped them win the Strictly Tour 2015 trophy.

3) It showed what a strong partnership they were. The death drop takes skill, trust and a lot of practise. Kristina put a lot of trust in Simon and it paid off!

We loved this dance and hope you will too. Here are Simon and Kristina with their amazing Argentine Tango:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this routine. Were you team Sytina fans and would they get your vote? What made them such a strong partnership for you? Let us know by commenting below or tweeting @scd_support. We’d love to hear from you.

So Simon and Kristina join Susanna and Kevin, Gethin and Camilla, Mark and Iveta, Alesha and Matthew and Chelsee and Pasha as candidates in the Strictly Support Group General Election. Join us tomorrow for our final candidates and the start of our polling day to crown your Prime Ministers

Tango Tuesday – Warning: This Dance Contains Feathers, Is Lots Of Fun & Is Fab-u-lous!

Now we’ve got the boring stuff out of the way, today’s Strictly fix has been chosen by my lovely little girl, Bella.

She has chosen a fun, fabulous and feather-filled dance from Jason Donovan and Kristina Rihanoff. It may have been performed before she even started watching Strictly, but when she watched it this morning, it left her smiling and looking for a feather boa to practise her moves.

When I asked her why she liked it, she told me this “it’s like a tango, but they didn’t look grumpy all the time, they looked like they were having fun, even in the grumpy bits! They also wore pink and I like Kristina’s dress, because she looks like Sleeping Beauty should look!”

Being a massive Strictly Fan, she gave it a 10/10! We think the whole dance is fun, feather-filled and fab-u-lous and would easily give it the same score. Here are Jason & Kristina with their fab-u-lous routine. We hope you enjoy it:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that routine. Tweet us @scd_support, or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.

Smooth Sunday – After watching this dance, there won’t be a heartache tonight!

For today’s Smooth Sunday we’re watching a dance that’ll make you smile, tap your feet along at home and maybe, just maybe (if you’re adventurous) jump up and have a boogie along!

No-one can resist a dance to a bit of Michael Buble and today’s Smooth Sunday is a great example. We’re watching Simon and Kristina’s super smooth American Smooth to a bit of Buble!

We loved the choreography, costumes, and music but most importantly the dancing. Simon looked relaxed, comfortable and super suave. We think he deserved at least 2 10s for this dance.

We really enjoyed this dance and hope you will too. Here are Simon and Kristina with their fabulous American Smooth:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Throwback Thursday and Foxtrot Friday – A Double Treat For You All

As you know, everyday this week we’re showing you a favourite routine from each of our finalists. Yesterday we showed you the very first competitive dance to be performed on Strictly 2014, Caroline and Pasha’s cha cha, and today we’re showing you our favourite Foxtrot of this series from Simon and Kristina.

Going back to our Throwback Thursday where we showed you Caroline and Pasha’s routine which set the standard for this year’s series. Opening a show and series is never easy, but Caroline and Pasha showed in this dance they had the ability to go the whole distance. The performance was brilliant and for a first week performance, Caroline coped really well with the choreography. We loved this dance and hope you will too. Here are Caroline and Pasha with their cheeky cha cha:

For today’s Foxtrot Friday, we’re watching Simon and Kristina’s fabulous dance. Kristina’s choreography has always been brilliant and this series and dance are prime examples of this. The choreography and music were beautiful and this was a traditional and adorable Foxtrot. Note to the Other Half, next time we go to the Cinema, we’d like to dance a Foxtrot down the aisles. Simon also performed the dance perfectly. It left us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside! We hope you enjoy watching Simon and Kristina’s Foxtrot:

We’d love to hear what you thought of those dances. Tweet us @scd_support, or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.

The Strictly Support Group

Well done Simon and Kristina!

To reach the final Simon and Kristina showed a true fighting spirit. They fought for their place in the final, having competed in the Dance Off 3 times, and Simon showed a wonderful ability and progress in both Ballroom and Latin dancing.

Kristina’s choreography this series has been brilliant and has protected Simon as well as showcasing his strengths. Their Argentine Tango tonight was perfection and left us speechless. We could even hear a pin drop.

It has truly been great to see him grow in confidence throughout the competition and cannot wait to see them perform together on the tour.

Here are some of our favourite Team Sytina moments:
