Monday Memory – A weather warning on behalf of the Strictly Support Group!

Ladies and Gentlemen, we apologise if this morning you got a little soaked. Today we’ve been experiencing some very strange weather happenings over the UK, and we feel that today’s Monday Memory may be responsible.

Yes, earlier this morning, we showed you Pasha and Kimberley’s Cha-Tango from 2012. This fusion dance was uh-may-zing and scored her first perfect 40 (and 10s) of the series.

It was dramatic, cheeky, and fun routine which not only the judges liked, but we loved it at home, not just because it featured Pasha!

We loved it and hope you will too. Here are Pasha and Kimberly with their Cha-Tango. We hope you enjoy it:

We’re off now, to do the school run with an umbrella (need to watch out for those raining men!) but we’d love to hear what you thought of that routine. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Monday Memory – Game, Set and Match! A Dance We’ve Fallen in LOVE With!

Today is the start of Wimbledon! For the next two weeks we’ll be gorging ourselves on Strawberries and cream as well as hosting our Wimbledon-Themed Strictly Support Group (without wombles!)

For today’s dance, we’re watching a tennis themed dance and practising our backhand flying a kite πŸ˜• with Judy Murray and Anton Du Beke and their Viennese Waltz from Blackpool.

Although Judy wasn’t the strongest contestant on Strictly 2014, she really entertained us and this dance, as her best dance was entertaining, beautiful, light and elegant (just like flying a kite should be!) Judy’s dress was beautiful (we want one!) and the music, well, who doesn’t love Mary Poppins?

We loved it and would definitely give it at least 1 game point (not LOVE.) Here are Judy and Anton with their twirling, fab-u-lous Viennese Waltz:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Would you award it Love, 15, 30, 40 or Game, Set and Match? Tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know.

We’re off to enjoy some strawberries and cream, but will be back later to launch our Summer Giveaway!

30 Day Challenge – Β Bella’s Favourit(est) Moments from the Magical Kingdom!

It’s almost the end of my 30 day challenge! 30 days feels like a long time when you’re only 5. Today, I’ve decided to show you some of my favourite ever Strictly moments. I love Disney and love every dance that has been disney -themed.

My favouritest  *corrected by mummy* most favourite Disney-Themed Routine is Scott and Ariel Joanne’s Little Mermaid Themed Samba from Movies Week 2014. It got them their highest ever score and a 7 from the nice American Guest Judge man! I also liked the costumes a lot. If I were dancing on Strictly, I’d want to be able to wear a crab costume too! It looked like lots of fun to dance and it got me dancing lots at home! I even taught the real Ariel in Disneyland how to do the crab! Crabulous!

I also really liked Mark and Iveta’s Lion King themed Samba from Musicals Week 2013. I loved the costumes and the music. They also got to wear crowns which made them Lion King and Queen of Strictly. It was the sort of dance that got you dancing along at home. Mummy says I was dancing along the whole way through, but I don’t remember, it was a very very very long time ago! I loved this dance and it was roarsome!

My other favourite routine is the Professionals Let it Go routine. It was magical and they even danced backwards (I’m not sure how they did that!) *spins around practicising in her Princess Elsa costume*

These three are my favourites, but there are lots of other routines I loved just as much. Just watch this playlist below to see them:

What are your favourite ever Strictly moments? Let me know by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. Speak to you tomorrow for my last post. I won’t cry, because I’m a big girl!

30 Day Challenge – Bella’s A to Z of Strictly. V is for Viennese Waltz!

*Twirls round lots and lots then feels dizzy* I like spinning round lots, especially when I’m wearing my frilly skirt *spins round some more.* Don’t tell mummy I’m wearing my frilly skirt, because I’m not allowded to wear it at school! On Strictly, there’s one dance which has lots of spins and pretty dresses. It’s the Viennese Waltz.

I love the Viennese Waltz, because the dresses look pretty like princess dresses and it goes around and around and around and around.

The only bit of the Viennese Waltz I don’t like is when it makes my mummy cry. She says she’s crying because she’s happy and it’s beautiful, so I give her lots of hugs and tissues to make it all better!

Here are some of my favourite Viennese Waltzes. My favourite ever Viennese Waltz is Susanna and Kevin’s Viennese Waltz from Strictly 2013. I liked this because Susanna looked like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It made mummy cry (a lot!) but the music was like a lullaby and it had lots and lots and lots of spins!

What’s your favourite Viennese Waltz? Let me or Mummy know by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below.

Have a great day!

Bye bye for now

Monday Memory – A Boogedy Boogedy Boogedy Boogie Shoobee Doowop Sheebop To Kick-Start your Week!

Being eternal optimists and glass half-full types of people, we relish Monday mornings once we’ve had a cup of coffee, or two! As well as a cup of coffee, we always find our Monday Memory helps make us smile on a Monday Morning.

Today’s dance comes from our reigning champions Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev. It’s their Grease-inspired quickstep.

There are several reasons we loved this dance, but must admit that Pasha’s choreography, especially when it comes to Quicksteps, is top notch and this dance was no exception.

It was a truly joyous routine and being the last routine of the night when it was first performed, we can truly say that Strictly saved the best till last.

It’s left us grinning like the cheshire cat this morning. We showed it to a Panda 🐼earlier and this was his reaction:

I want Bambalooba, I want Bamboo!

He may have been hungry after watching it, but we’re pretty sure he enjoyed it and hope you will too. Here are Caroline and Pasha with their fabulous quickstep:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that routine. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you!

Monday Memory – The Easter Bunny’s Monday Memory Dance-Off

It’s Easter Monday and while most of us enjoy a chilled out start to the week with friends and loved ones, one person has been very busy delivering Easter Eggs and creating a hiphoptastic playlist.

Yes, The Easter Bunny has been working hard for you all. He needs a bit of help, so today he’s hosting the Great Strictly Support Group Easter Bunny Monday Memory Dance-Off! (Try saying that with a mouth full of Easter Egg!) He’s chosen two dances which were performed to a song that he is very proud of, Get Happy.
First up is Kimberly and Pasha’s Quickstep. This is a dance full of glamour, hops, skips and lots of quick steps:
Next up are Frankie and Kevin with their elegant and glamourous Showdance.

Now you’ve seen both dances, just vote in this poll to choose your winner:

The Easter Bunny will reveal the results tonight at 7pm.
We hope you all have a wonderful Easter Monday!

Monday Memory – Another Terrific Thirty Moment For You All!

Yesterday I entered my thirties with a surprise Strictlified party, being showered with presents and spoilt rotten by my family.

For yesterday’s Smooth Sunday, I started off my 30th Year, showing you one of my favourite ever American Smooths from Rachel Riley and Pasha Kovalev.

For today’s Monday Memory, earlier I showed you Victoria and Brendan’s classy quickstep, straight from the Big Apple.

We loved this dance as it was effortless, elegant, sophisticated, classy and gorgeous. In our opinion, it deserved 4 10s (if anything for Brendan’s fall at the end), but it scored a magical score of 30.

As a treat for you this monday, I’ve compiled a Youtube Playlist with some of my favourite Terrific Thirty Moments. Just click this link to see which dances feature:

If you can think of another dance to have scored 30, which you’d like to see featured on our Playlist, let us know and we’ll add it. You can either tweet us @scd_support, or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Have a wonderful start to your week.

Monday Memory – The Great Strictly Support Group Quickstep-Off!

On Saturday we hosted the very first Great Strictly Support Group Dance-Off (think Great British Bake Off, but without Mary Berry/Paul Hollywood or cake, but with lots of glitter and sparkle from the Strictly dancefloor!) It was very popular and you all seemed to enjoy it, so we’ve decided to kickstart your week with a Quickstep-off.

We’ve chosen two wonderful quicksteps. Once you’ve seen them, all you’ll need to do is vote in the poll below to pick your favourite. We’ll then reveal the overall winners just after 8pm tonight!

Quickstep 1 – Frankie and Kevin:

Quickstep 2 – Tom and Camilla:

For us, both these dances were just as a-may-zing as one another and we can hardly separate them. We are calling on you, the wonderful members of the Strictly Support Group to choose your favourite. Just vote in the poll below to choose your winner.

We’ll crown the winner just after 8pm before our quickfire quiz. Get voting people!

Monday Memory – If you’re feeling down, this dance will make you scream HAPPY DAYS

*Provides readers with earplugs* Today’s Monday Memory is proof that Mondays can be a Happy Day and don’t have to be blue, dreary or dull, dull, dull (take note Craig Revel Horwood!)

We’re taking you back to the moment Kevin from Grimsby turned into the Fonz and performed a fun, fab-u-lous and fantastic Charleston with Frankie on Strictly 2014.

We loved this dance for several reasons:
1) We loved the 50s style and concept – Frankie’s dress was amazing, Kevin became king of the quiff(tons) and the diner set was fantastic!
2) The music – It instantly put us in a good mood! We’re showing our age, but loved watching repeats of Happy Days growing up and this brings back so many memories.
3) The choreography – Kevin’s choreography was imaginative, and even if the lift may have gone a tincy bit wrong πŸ™ˆ, we still loved it!
4) The dancing – who’d have thought a 50s Charleston would work. It really did and truly made us smile! The whole routine and the dancing were fab-u-lous!

We hope you enjoy watching this dance. Here are Frankie and the Fonz from Grimsby Kevin from Grimsby with their Happy Days inspired Charleston. We hope it makes you smile and scream HAPPY DAYS:

Monday Memory – A Tour Dance We’re Very Proud Of!

*sings* We’re rollin’, rollin’, rollin’ on a river *starts jiving around like a lunatic*

This morning, we’ll happily admit that this dance worked better than our alarm clock and it helped us spring out of bed ready for the day ahead.

Everyday this week, we’re showing you some of our favourite Tour memories of all time. Today’s is a true treat which’ll make you smile!

Although we never got to watch this dance on the live show, watching it on the tour was worth the wait. It was a dance that made us truly proud of the wonderful world of Strictly. It was fast, fun, fab-u-lous, flawless and a fringe-filled fiesta of dancing delight!

Today we’re watching the wonderful Jive from Natalie and Artem. We truly loved this dance and hope you will too. Here they are with this wonderful dance:

We hope you enjoyed watching that dance and would love to hear what you thought of it. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
