Last night we revealed the next couple to be in the spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks.
We were very excited to announce that the next couple in the spotlight are Team Pocket Rocket – aka Claudia and AJ.
We loved the energy that these two brought to the competition each week. They were young and whoever matched them together deserves a medal because you could tell with each dance their friendship grew and grew even stronger!
For day 1, we’ve chosen their light, bright and fab-u-lous quickstep. OK, it was the dance that saw them bow out of the competition before they’d performed what would have most definitely have been an acrobatic Showdance, but it just showed how far Claudia had come on her Strictly journey. Her confidence and performance skill had grown no-end and this dance was so fast, they flew across the floor faster than Len could pickle his walnuts!
We loved the whole feel and quality of the dance and in our eyes it deserved a perfect 40! The music was uplifting, as too was the choreography and Claudia’s dress gave us serious Christmas Party dress envy. In case you missed it earlier, here they are with their wonderful dance!

So, last night we unveiled Series three’s Colin and Erin as the next couple to be in the spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks series.
They may have performed on Strictly nearly 11 years ago, but their amazing dances are still very well remembered. In fact, we regularly turn to them if we need a sparkly boost!
We’ve picked one such dance today for our first fix of Colin and Erin magic. We’ve chosen their light, bright and fab-u-lously fast quickstep. The choreography was challenging, but Colin flew across the floor faster than *thinks of something really fast* concorde and the whole feel of the dance made us smile!
We’re pretty sure it’ll have the same effect on you. If you didn’t see it earlier, don’t fear, here it is just for you
We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Do you remember seeing it performed on Strictly or is it a surprise performance that has filled you with joy? Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.
So last night we revealed the next couple to be in the spotlight as part of our Strictly Couple Weeks. Yes, we’ve chosen quite possibly Anton’s best partner ever, and the partner who got him to the final in 2015.
Every day this week, we’ll share one of Katie and Anton’s fab-u-lous dances. At the end of the week, we’ll then put them against one another in a poll at the end of the week to decide the best Team Derbeke dance of all time.
For today’s dance, we’re taking a trip down 42nd Street, and reliving their wonderful Quickstep.
Katie always looked elegant and this dance was beautiful and packed full of ballroom content. Anton is the king of ballroom and he made sure this dance was challenging, but also a showstopper of a performance.
Ok, there was a minor wardrobe malfunction *eats her hat in protest* but overall we loved this dance and it had a real flavour of Broadway and the West End.

It’s almost the weekend and for today’s dance as part of Jeremy and Karen week, we’re going underground. No, we’re not going on the tube, but we are reliving their quickstep.
Ok, it was the last dance that Jeremy performed on the show *sobs* but if truth be told it was a brilliant dance and he left the show on a high.
There was a lot of technical dancing and steps which he performed brilliantly. We have a feeling the song choice may not have been most appropriate for a quickstep, but once again Karen’s choreography was fab-u-lous.
In case you missed it earlier, here they are with their Quickstep.

For Day four of our Team Glita themed week, earlier today, we shared their joyous and wonderful Quickstep.
When it was first performed it left us with a big smile on our faces and we loved how light, bright and superfast it was.
Gleb gave Anita some challenging choreography which she executed and performed brilliantly. It was also original and inventive choreography which we loved and wanted to see more of during their journey on the show.
We love a quickstep and it always lightens the mood. In light of recent events, we felt it’d be the perfect antidote as it’s like a big hug in dance form – it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Anyway, in case you missed it earlier, here it is:

Unless, you’ve been hiding under a glitter covered rock over the past few days, you’ll know that we’ve been putting some of our all-time favourite couples in the spotlight, with our Strictly Couple Weeks.
Every week we’ll pick one couple and share with you one of their dances every day, before putting our choices to the public vote at the end of the week. This week, it’s 2016 Finalist and Samba Sensation, Danny and Oti.
Yes, their Samba was amazing as too was their Charleston, but one dance which in our eyes should have been scored much higher was their impressive, fast and near-perfect quickstep.
When it was performed in week 4, it really lifted our mood and brushed all our moving house cares away! It was fast, fun and fab-u-lous. Oti’s choreography was original and matched the music perfectly. The concept of the whole dance had a feel of 1940s Hollywood Glamour and Danny captured the character of the dance as well as mastering the steps. For us, it is one of our favourite dances of Strictly 2016. Here it is just for you:

Over the past few days, we’ve been showing you some of our favourite dances from one of our favourite Strictly couples of all time, Zoe and Ian, as part of our Strictly Couple Theme Weeks.
On Monday, we showed you Zoe and Ian’s Foxtrot and yesterday we showed you one of our all-time favourite dances of theirs, their brilliant Tango! Today it’s time to show you the third of their brilliant dances, their brilliant quickstep!
We love the quickstep and if we were on Strictly it would be our favourite dance. This dance was full of flair, and was fast and fab-u-lous! It may have been performed over 11 years ago, but when we feel sad, it’s still one dance that we go to when we need a strictly pick-me-up!
So last week, we put perfect scoring Tangos and Jives against one another in a bid to see which Tango and which Jive were best.
In case you missed it, here’s a reminder of the contenders in picture form:
It was a closely fought competition full of kicks, flicks and contra checks. Your votes have now been checked, counted and verified and we can now reveal that the Tango going through to the final is Kimberley and Pasha’s perfect scoring Tango and the Jive going through to the final is (the first perfect-scoring dance ever!) Jill and Darren’s. Congratulations to both couples! We’ll see you in the final.
The competition is now picking up, and it’s time for us to spice things up with the battle of salsas and sambas and quicksteps! All you need to do is watch the dances below in this video then vote for your favourite salsa or samba and quickstep in the polls just underneath.
Now here are the interesting bit… the terms and conditions *replicates the clauditorium in her living room* Please ask Bill Payer’s permission (whoever he is) before you vote. Voting will remain open until 6pm next Sunday (5th February!) You can vote once a day in each poll for your favourites. The winning couple from each category will go through to the final (in week 10) where they will battle with the other winning dances to be crowned the best dance on Strictly ever!
Keep dancing and voting (we don’t mind you dancing while you vote, but please be careful as this can be quite a risky business!)
There’s one dance on Strictly I love just as much as the Jive and that’s the Quickstep. I like it because it’s really really fast and the people dancing it always look like they’re flying. It reminds me of playtime at school, because we always run after eachother. I think I’ll be good at the quickstep when I’m older because I like running, just ask Mummy who had to chase after me the other day when I was in the park.
I also like the quickstep, because it looks like a happy dance and it always makes me and my Mummy smile whenever we see it! Mummy says it’s the perfect dance for today, because lots of people feel sad and it’s hump day (which has nothing to do with camels apparently – I don’t believe her!) so it’ll make people smile just as much as a marshmallow and white chocolate cookie makes me smile! *grins like the cheshire cat thinking of cookies* 😀
Mummy’s shown me some great quicksteps which have appeared over the last 11 years on Strictly, but my favourite quickstep has to be Caroline and Pasha’s Quickstep from last year. I liked it because it looked like they were having lots of fun dancing it, and they even had a teddy bear and a horsey on the dancefloor at the same time too!
She’s helped me make a playlist of some of her (and my) favourite ever quicksteps. Watch this below and smile:
I’d like to know which quickstep is your all time favourite dance. Let me know by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below.
I look forward to hearing from you. Have a great day and keep smiling (as well as dancing!) *dances off back to school!*
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few months, you probably know we are a week away from going to the polls for the General Election 2015!
Here at the Strictly Support Group, we love a poll to decide the answers to those tough questions and to crown an overall winner.
We’ve decided to launch our very own Strictly Support Group General Election! Over the next 7 days, we’ll show you some of our all-time favourite dances. Next Thursday we’ll give you all the chance to vote for your ultimate favourite. We’ll then reveal the winner and Prime Minister(s) of the Strictly Support Group!
Today, we’re watching Chelsee Healey and Pasha Kovalev dance their first-class Quickstep! When we first saw this dance back in 2011 we loved it. The story-telling was great, the choreography even better and the dancing was magnificent! It made us want to sing, sing, sing, sing (and vote) from the rooftops it was that great. It even scored 36 points in week 4 of the competition and showed that these two were true contenders.
We loved it and hope you will too. Here are Chelsee and Pasha with their fab-u-lous first class quickstep:
Now you’ve seen that dance we’d love to hear what you thought of it. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. Are you Team Chelsee and Pasha? What made them so great a partnership for you? Let us know, we’d love to hear from you.
We’ll be back tomorrow for the next candidate in our Strictly Support Group General Election!
