So earlier today we shared with you a truly roarsome and pawsome dance from Team Pocket Rocket. Yes, we reminded you of their wonderful Musicals Week Lion King inspired Salsa.
When we first watched this dance, it left us bursting with pride. Claudia shone all way through the performance, and admittedly they were the cutest pairing on the dancefloor in their lion costumes, but the Salsa was filled with content and lots of great and fearless tricks.
They truly deserved their very first 10 from Bruno, and in our eyes the other judges should have awarded them at 10 too. I remember my 6 year old watching the dance and saying “Craig had better give them a 10 because if they’re lions they could eat him and that wouldn’t be very nice!” Sadly, some things never change and Craig’s 10 paddle stayed gathering dust under the judges’ desk, but in our eyes it wll always be a perfect 10 and one of those moments when music, concept, costume, choreography and performance all come together to give a magical moment on the Strictly Dancefloor.
In case you missed it earlier, here are Claudia and Aj with their Salsa:
We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. You can tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We’ll be back later on from 8pm with a Strictly Pros themed chat! We hope to see you then!
It’s the Weekend and we’re pretty sure this weekend’s going to be a thriller!
As part of our Jeremy and Karen themed week, we’re reliving their spookily zombified salsa from Halloween Week 2015.
When we first watched this, my then 5 year old was convinced that Jeremy and Karen had both been baking and got icing sugar and flour over their faces. Yes, she didn’t quite understand the idea of a zombie but she loved the dance, as did we!
There were all the elements of a great halloween salsa including brilliant costumes and make-up as ever, great music, and brilliant choreography (with the obligatory nods to thriller too!)
It was a true thriller and we were really thrilled when Craig awarded them a 4 (I think their reaction deserved a glitterball in itself!)
In case you missed it earlier, here are Jeremy and Karen with their spookily good Salsa:
We’d love to hear what you thought of the dance. Tweet @scd_support or comment below to let us know. We look forward to hearing from you.
It’s Saturday and the weekend! Yay! As after Z there are no more letters in the Alphabet, Mummy asked me earlier which Salsas I liked the most. I chose all of these:
I like the Salsa a lot (even when mummy makes it with green tomatoes – yuk!) because it looks lots of fun and like the people are at a party!
My favourite ever Salsa of all time is Hairy Dave and Karen’s Salsa! Although the judges were mean and only gave them 17 points out of 40 *boos* I thought they deserved a lot more points. They had lots of things going on in the dance including a parrot, maracas, spins, lots of fruit and bananas, lifts, cartwheels (which I can’t do!) and head rolls *rolls head and then feels dizzy.* They also looked like they were having so much fun and it was a birthday party! I would have given them a 10 out of 10 for effort and entertainment – take note Craig.
What’s your favourite Salsa? Let me and mummy know by commenting below or by tweeting @scd_support. We look forward to hearing from you.
I’m off to practice my cartwheels, but mummy’s back at 7pm tonight for a theatrically-themed Strictly Support Group. She hopes to see you there!
Today it’s the weekend and it’s also Salsa Saturday. Mummy made a special salsa last night which was really yummy even thought it had green tomatos in it:
Anyway, enough about food because I’m feeling hungry. As it’s Salsa Saturday, today I need to show you a Salsa dance. I’ve picked two salsas. One was from Thom and Iveta last year and the other one was from Tom and Camilla (who judged the tour and danced this even before I was born!)
Thom and Iveta’s Salsa
When I first watched this dance, I liked it because it reminded me of when I go swimming! Mummy said it made her feel a little hot. I’m not sure what she means, because they were dancing in Autumn and it’s cold in Autumn. Maybe she was wearing too many jumpers.
I also got to see this dance on the tour and it looked like lots of fun, even if Thom did lose his top! I think Craig Revel Horwood stole it from him because he was feeling mean.
Tom and Camilla’s Salsa
I wasn’t even born when this dance was performed, but Mummy showed it to me and suggested I put it in this post. It looked amazing and was full of turns and spins. I want to dance like that when I’m older! I also like Camilla’s dress because it’s very pretty and sparkly. The whole routine was fab-u-lous and I loved it!
Now you’ve seen both dances, I’d like you to help me choose the best of the two. Just vote in this poll below and Mummy will let you know the winners just before the Strictly Support Group at 7pm. *wonders if they’ll win a glitterball or a nice prize*
I’m off now to my gymnastics class *attempts a cartwheel.* Mummy’ll be on twitter from 7pm (my bedtime) with a special Strictly Support Group. She hopes to see you there.
Yesterday, we hosted a super Special Foxtrot Friday to decide the best Foxtrot of the last 11 years. You unanimously voted for these wonderful people and watching the dance back, it was very easy to see why:
It’s not every day you turn 11, so we have decided to continue the celebrations all weekend long. Today we’re showing you some of our all-time favourite salsas and will be asking you to vote for your favourite Salsa of all time. Just watch the videos below and then vote in the poll below before 7pm tonight to choose your favourite:
We’ll be here from 7.30pm tonight for our Strictly Turns 11 birthday chat. We hope to see you there.
Tonight mummy will let me take over the Strictly Support Group to host a chat from 7.30pm. It’s past my normal bedtime, but I’ve just had a nap so I won’t fall asleep I promise!
This morning, I told mummy cats can dance. She seemed suspicious and didn’t believe me. Then I showed her this dance where there was a real cat on Strictly! *looks up to see how cinnamon the kitten can take part this year.*
It was a salsa which had lots of feathers and glitter, as well as a real cat which I loved! I hope you will love it too. Here are Kristina (although I think it’s really a cat) and someone called Colin (I don’t remember him as I was only a tiny baby when he performed:)
I hope you liked watching this dance. I’ll be here from 7.30pm with a Princess themed chat. See you later alligators (not real alligators, because they scare me!)
It’s the weekend *does a little dance* and we know the only way to celebrate the start of the weekend is with a Salsa!
It’s also Day 3 of our Strictly Support Group Election. Politics can be boring, but where the Strictly Support Group is concerned, we beg to differ. We’re here to make this General Election fun for all!
For the 3rd dance in our Strictly Support Group Election we’ve chosen this crowd-pleaser and fun routine from Mark Benton and Iveta Lukosiute.
We loved this routine when we saw it on TV but loved it even more seeing it on the tour in 2014. It was pure entertainment. For performance value alone, it deserved a 10 paddle from the judges. It summed up what strictly is all about, having fun whilst learning something new. It made the nation smile and fall in love with Mark and Iveta as a partnership. It may not have been the highest scoring dance on the night, but it truly deserves to be a candidate in the Strictly Support Group Election.
We loved it and hope you will too. Here are Mark and Iveta with their fab-u-lously fun Salsa.
We’d love to hear what you thought of this routine. Let us know by commenting below or tweeting @scd_support. We look forward to hearing from you.
So, Mark and Iveta have joined Alesha and Matthew and Chelsee and Pasha as candidates in the Strictly Support Group Election. Who will join them tomorrow? Watch this space to find out!

It’s Salsa Saturday and time for the weekend *does a little victory dance.* Now where were we? Oh yes! It’s Salsa Saturday and today we’re off on a little adventure to Legoland. On a journey, we love nothing more than a game of I-Spy, being the observant people we are. When searching for today’s Salsa Saturday, we found this routine and felt that not only did it capture the party vibe of the weekend, but it’s also one for you Strictly fans.
So what did we spy with our little eyes?
1) We spied something beginning with S. Lots of spins and great salsa steps
2) We spied (and heard) something beginning with L. Lots of lovely latin beats and music.
3) We spied something beginning with F. Fringing & great costumes
and finally 4) We spied something beginining with K. A certain current male pro from Grimsby. Yes, my 5 yr old saw him before I did, but we spied Kevin Clifton, so felt lots of you would enjoy watching it.
Here are the amazing Chris Marques and Jacqui Spencer with their great professional dancers, including Kevin (From Grimsby) Clifton:
This afternoon we’re making our way to the fab-u-lous, sparkly, glittery O2 to spend the evening on planet Strictly. To say we’re excited would be the understatement of the year. We’re so excited we might dance our way to the O2 instead of catching the train and tube.
This time last year, we went to the tour and watched today’s Salsa Saturday dance. It made us want to get up and dance in the O2 and we’re pretty sure it’ll do the same when you watch it today. We’re watching Abbey and Aljaz’s Salsa which we should all be dancing to. Here are some reasons why you should be dancing (yeah!)
1) Dance fills you with joy. This routine did just that. It was a real crowd-pleasing routine. Yes, it was slightly more disco than Salsa, but who cares, they danced it with style!
2) It’s a Saturday Night, which means one thing… We all have a case of Saturday Night Fever. We all know there’s one way to cure your Saturday and Post-Strictly blues and that’s by dancing, so why not join in with this routine. We promise you’ll look fab-u-lous and will be scoring 10s in no time at all!
3) Practice makes perfect. This reason may take a bit of imagination. Close your eyes and imagine a hunk/heroine stood looking dreamy *imagines Pasha dressed a la John Travolta* then switch on some disco/funk beats to get you moving and within no time at all, you will be a dancefloor god/goddess!
Ok, maybe we went a bit crazy with that last one, but we loved this routine and it was a dance that made us want to get up and join in at home. Here are Abbey and Aljaz to get you in the party spirit with their superb Salsa. We hope you enjoy it:
We’d love to hear if you were dancing (*in a high-pitched beegees voice* yeah!) along to that song. Let us know what you thought of it. You can tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you.
We’ll be on twitter later posting pictures of the tour as it happens. We hope you can join us.
