Yes, we have reached the all important Week SevERN of the competition in our Ultimate Strictly Challenge.
It’s Len’s favourite week, so we’ve invited him along as our guest judge to check, count and verify your votes from week 6 (Thank you Len *hands him some pickled walnuts as a gift*)
Thank you for all your votes this week. They have been checked, counted and verified and we can reveal that Len is very happy with his pickled walnuts and that Kimberley and Pasha’s Fusion, Louise and Kevin’s Argentine Tango and Harry and Aliona’s Argentine Tango have successfully reached the final of our competition. Congratulations to all three couples!
We are now in our penultimate round. We’re asking you to vote for your favourite perfect-scoring Showdance. This week, we also want to hear the dances you thought were perfect (even though they may not have achieved a perfect score!) Send us your suggestions and we’ll put them to the vote next week! You can tweet @scd_support or comment below to tell us. We look forward to hearing from you.
Today is the Strictly Come Dancing Live 2015 Press Day *cheers thinking of all the great pictures and news stories we’ll get today* which means one thing, THE STRICTLY TOUR STARTS TOMORROW! We can all get our sequins on and celebrate in the knowledge that our post strictly blues will be cured for another few weeks.
Every day this week we’ve shown you some of our favourite ever dances from the Strictly tour, and today’s is no exception. It’s the electric tango/cha cha/showdance from our Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour cast of 2014. We love a bit of Britney and this dance ticked all our boxes to become one of our favourite tour dances:
1) Great music ✅
2) Fabulous choreography ✅
3) Feathers and sequins (check out the pros costumes, we’re in love!) ✅
4) Great dancing ✅
5) All the cast on one stage at the same time ✅
6) Some amazing lifts and jumps and partner swapping too (very 21st Century) ✅
We loved this routine and hope you will too. Here are our pros, celebs and strictly band performing to Toxic by Britney Spears:
We hope you enjoyed watching that dance and would love to hear what you thought of it. Get in touch either by tweeting us (@scd_support,) or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.
*Checks the Strictly Support Group rule book* Sundays are normally Smooth Sundays where you show an American Smooth. *rips up said rule book*
This week, I’ve decided to change the rules and show a Showdance in honour of last night’s fab-u-lous final! I’ve chosen Natalie and Artem’s showdance from last year’s final.
This dance was not only technically perfect but featured every dance style imaginable as well as lots of jumps tricks and poles. Natalie looked stunning in green which is an achievement in itself. On a more slightly serious note, it left us grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
So, here it is, just for you Natalie and Artem’s fab-u-lous showdance. We hope you enjoy it:
We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Tweet @scd_support or comment below. We’re also hosting a poll to find your favourite showdance. Just vote below and we’ll reveal the results on Tuesday after 7.30pm:
Ladies, and Gents, You know the feeling when you’re in a clothes shop trying on lots of outfits and wish you could just change with a click of the fingers. Well, Strictly appear to have mastered this, especially in today’s Wednesday Warm-Up.
We’re watching the magnificent, acrobatic and quick-changing showdance from Jason and Kristina. This dance achieved a perfect score and was performed in the magical tower ballroom.
It had lifts, tricks and everything you want from a showdance. It was daring, creative and perfectly performed. In fact, when I showed this to my 4yr old she was so surprised at it she was speechless and sat with her mouth gaping open in awe! “wow!” She said “they’re amazing mummy!”
We really loved this dance and Jason most definitely wasn’t a dancing fool, but a dancing master! We hope you enjoy watching it too. Here are Jason and Kristina with their showdance.

Today, my beautiful best friend Serene starts a new job. She didn’t want any fuss to be made of her, but being her best friend I couldn’t resist, so have chosen to dedicate our Monday memory to her.
I did some sneaky detective work (well I asked her boyfriend) and found out that her favourite dance was Susanna and Kevin’s showdance from last year’s final. If you haven’t already seen it where have you been for the last year? it’ll make you smile, cry, need a hug and want to give this pair a standing ovation. The dance was beautifully choreographed by Kevin to suit Susanna’s strengths (she did look beautiful in ballroom.) The neck spin lift was out of this world and we were slightly relieved that Susanna didn’t hit Craig Revel Horwood. Susanna’s dress was beautiful too.
I know Serene loved this dance and it will help her relax on her first day at her new job. You will be a-may-zing Serene! Here is your favourite dance, Susanna and Kevin’s showdance. Hope it makes you smile (and not cry, because if it does, I’ll give you a paso face!)
If you have a big event coming up and would like us to dedicate a dance to you, DM us @scd_support. We’d love to hear from you. We’re off to a relaxing Spa break for a couple of days, but don’t panic! @strictlylucy2 has kindly agreed to cover our It Takes Two chats. I’ll be back on Thursday for an It Takes Two chat and quiz.
In the history of Strictly Come Dancing, lots of songs have graced the presence of the ballroom twice, thrice or even more, so for our Throwback Thursday, we thought we’d try something different showing you two dances that have been danced to the same song and putting them against one another as a duel! Strictly producers, if you’re reading this, lots of us would like to see duels between couples on the next series.
For today’s dances we’ve chosen two perfect routines:
Pamela and James’s Amazing Quickstep
And Natalie and Artem’s Phenomenal Showdance.
Both these dances were performed to the song “stepping out with my baby” and both achieved perfect scores. They were brilliantly choreographed and danced. Both feature amazing tap dance and quickstep sections that will take your breath away. We love them both equally and cannot decide which is best, but we know you can help us! *flutters eyelids*
Just watch both these dances and then vote in the poll below to tell us who you think should win the ultimate duel. Simples!
We hope you liked watching both these dances and would love to hear what you think of them. Just comment below or tweet us @scd_support. We’d love to hear from you.
Believe it or not, today isTap Dance Day! Yes, there really is a day dedicated to this form of dance!
In a change to our usual Smooth Sunday fix, we chose a dance incorporating tap dance, lifts, spins, ballroom and the everything imaginable from the world of dance. It even had a pole in it!
For today’s Strictly Fix, we’re watching the wonderful showdance from Natalie Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev. *jazz hands and shuffles* This dance had flair, panache, fabulous dancing, lifts, tricks, a wonderful tap dance sequence….the list goes on! It’s safe to say we loved it and it is one of our favourite show dances of all time (along with Susanna and Kevin’s gorgeous dance which made our eyes ever so slightly very leaky.)
Here it is just for you to wish you a Happy International Tap Dancing Day, Natalie and Artem’s divine Showdance!
We hope you enjoyed watching that dance. Tweet us what you thought of it @scd_support. We’d love to hear from you.
