Strictly Couple Weeks – Mark and Karen – Day 3

It’s Day 3 of our Mark and Karen themed week, and today we’re Waltzing on a Wednesday with one of all-time favourite Viennese Waltzes.

When Mark and Karen performed this dance in series 4, we felt it was truly enchanting. Karen’s dress gave us serious dress envy and the choreography and feel of the dance were truly magical.

It became one of our go-to Strictly moments when we’re needing a pick-me-up, and we’re pretty sure that today this dance will cure your hump day blues.

In case you missed it earlier, here are Mark and Karen with their fab-u-lous Viennese Waltz.

Once you’ve watched this dance, we’d love to hear what you thought of it. You can tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know what you thought.

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Strictly Support Group – Strictly Couple Weeks – Katie and Anton (Team Derbeke) – Day 3

It’s Wednesday and whilst we try and relieve our hump day blues by dreaming of dancing with Gorka or Pasha, today we’re reliving another of Katie and Anton’s wonderful dances.

It’s a dance that filled us with joy and made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It also gave us goosebumps from the moment we first saw it.

Anton saw himself at the top of the leaderboard for the first time in forever and it became one of the dances of 2015 for us.

Yes, we’re referring to their dreamy Viennese Waltz. We’re still a bit gutted we never got to see it in the final *stomps feet like a grumpy toddler* but are pretty sure that by watching it again today this will make up for it!

In case you missed it earlier, here they are in their dreamy Viennese Waltz:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this dance. Simply tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know what you thought. We look forward to hearing from you.

Strictly Support Group – Strictly Couple Weeks – Georgia and Giovanni – Day 4

We love nothing more on a Thursday than a good old nostalgic look back at some of our favourite Strictly moments. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you’ll have probably guessed that this week we’ve put Team GG in the spotlight with their wonderful dances.

Today for our Thursday Throwback, we’re reliving their Viennese Waltz which was a runaway success. Not only did it have fleckerls and more turns than a waltzer at the fairground, but the music was beautifully romantic and the whole dance had an ethereal quality which made us feel all warm and gooey inside (like a chocolate brownie!) Together Georgia and Giovanni floated across the floor (*realises she’s about to sound like Len*) and it was smoother than a hot chocolate!

*Craves some chocolate so sips on a cup of hot chocolate* We loved it and in case you missed it earlier, here it is again for you:

We’d love to hear what you thought of this routing. Tell us by tweeting @scd_support or commenting below. We look forward to hearing from you.

Monday Memory – Game, Set and Match! A Dance We’ve Fallen in LOVE With!

Today is the start of Wimbledon! For the next two weeks we’ll be gorging ourselves on Strawberries and cream as well as hosting our Wimbledon-Themed Strictly Support Group (without wombles!)

For today’s dance, we’re watching a tennis themed dance and practising our backhand flying a kite πŸ˜• with Judy Murray and Anton Du Beke and their Viennese Waltz from Blackpool.

Although Judy wasn’t the strongest contestant on Strictly 2014, she really entertained us and this dance, as her best dance was entertaining, beautiful, light and elegant (just like flying a kite should be!) Judy’s dress was beautiful (we want one!) and the music, well, who doesn’t love Mary Poppins?

We loved it and would definitely give it at least 1 game point (not LOVE.) Here are Judy and Anton with their twirling, fab-u-lous Viennese Waltz:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Would you award it Love, 15, 30, 40 or Game, Set and Match? Tweet us @scd_support or comment below to let us know.

We’re off to enjoy some strawberries and cream, but will be back later to launch our Summer Giveaway!

Monday Memory – A Dance Filled with Festive Magic

This morning, we woke up feeling festive, sparkly and wanting to spread the glittery love with you all.

After we’d eaten our dinner on Christmas Day, one dance truly enchanted us and made my 4 yr old think that fairies live on Planet Strictly. It was Rachel Stevens and Tristan MacManus’s gorgeous Viennese Waltz.

We had forgotten how talented Rachel was and this dance showcased her dancing skills. It was magical, enchanting, elegant, romantic and tear-jerkingly beautiful. It was everything you could wish for in a Viennese Waltz. It also had Tristan in it who melted our hearts. 😍

Rachel made a beautiful Tinkerbelle, her costume gave us serious dress envy, Tristan a hunky Peter Pan, The music was brilliant, the choreography just as it should be and the whole performance was a moment of Strictly perfection. It was our favourite performance of the Strictly Christmas Special.

Once again, we do think Rachel is one of the best runners-up we’ve ever had on Strictly. If they’re ever planning a champion of champions, she should be top of the list.

We’ll leave you with Rachel and Tristan’s gorgeous Viennese Waltz. We hope you enjoy:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that routine and who you’d like to see on a champion of champions Special. Tweet us, comment below or on our facebook page to let us know.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Tango Tuesday and Wednesday Warm-Up – Possibly the First and Last time we’ll combine these dances together

We’ve been a little busy over the last few days, so today’s blog post is a double Strictly FIx. We’re showing you an aggressive dance (grr!) and a super romantic dance (ah!) They’re a little like chalk and cheese, so we’ve added some kittens into the mix to make the transition more gradual and less shocking!

Yesterday was Tango Tuesday, so we showed you a monster of a tango, packed full of aggression and halloween spirit from Ashley Taylor-Dawson and Ola Jordan. When we first saw this dance we loved the power these two danced with. Ola’s dress was just gorgeous and although Ashley needed to work on his neck and head a little, he nailed the character of the dance. It scared my then 3 year old (not so good for me) but meant the dance overall was good! We hope you enjoy watching it too:

If that scared you a little bit, here is some fluffy cuteness to make you smile…

Seeing these cuties above, made me feel super soppy, so for today’s Wednesday Warm-Up, I decided to show you one of my favourite ever Viennese Waltzes. Before you ask, no I didn’t choose this because it has Pasha in it! I’ve decided to show you Kimberly Walsh and Pasha Kovalev’s gorgeous Twilight-inspired Viennese Waltz. Not only is it performed to one of the songs I had at our Vow Renewal on Saturday but lots of you have requested it in the past. I loved the soft tender nature of the choreography and the romantic dancing. Kimberly’s dress was stunning and Pasha just looked gorgeous! The music was amazing and the whole performance made my eyes leak it was so beautiful. Here it is, just for you, Kimberly and Pasha’s Viennese Waltz:

I don’t know about you, but that’s left me feeling a little emosh! I’m heading off for a couple of hours, but will be here from 6.30pm for a quickfire quiz. Hope you can join me then!

Throwback Thursday – A Dance of Sentimental Value To Both Me and My Husband

I promise, although I’m pregnant right now, I’m going to hold back the tears and try to write this blog post without blubbing like a baby. This is a task in itself for me. If you follow me on my personal twitter (@cassiopoeia85,) you will have noticed I have a habit of reaching out for Kleenex frequently, especially when TV (including Strictly) makes my eyes go all leaky. *inserts example here*

Today’s dance was one of those moments.

On Saturday, it’ll be mine and my husband’s 6th Wedding Anniversary. We’ll be celebrating by renewing our vows at the very same place we got married in front of family and friends. You may be wondering, what does Strictly have to do with renewing your vows? Well, when we got married, our first dance together was to Annie’s Song, by John Denver. Last year when we saw Susanna and Kevin dance their Viennese Waltz to this song in Week 3, it not only made me weep, but made my alpha-male, sports-mad husband go teary-eyed too, bringing back many happy memories of that day.

In 2 days time, we’ll walk down the aisle again to this song, and it’ll no doubt remind us of our happy day 6 years ago. It will also remind us of this Strictly Routine, and the fabulous group routine we saw on the Tour in February.

We loved this dance, not just because of the music, but because Susanna looked graceful and elegant like a swan. The whole feel of the dance was understated and simple whilst being sophisticated and glamourous, just like an old Hollywood Movie. Although Viennese Waltzes can be quite boring, Kevin’s choreography was exciting and had lots of beautifully romantic moments which tugged at our heartstrings and made us get ever so slightly emotional and reach for the Kleenex. *sobs*

Overall it was an amazing performance, which we loved and voted for lots and lots. Here it is just for your Throwback Thursday fix, Susanna and Kevin’s sensational Viennese Waltz. We hope you enjoy it:

We’d love to hear what you thought of that dance. Tweet us @scd_support or comment below. We look forward to hearing from you. We’re off on the hunt for some Glow in the Dark balloons and to do some final ceremony preparations but will be here tonight from 7pm for a chat and quiz. Hope you can join us then.
