This Saturday, Strictly heads to the movies for what promises to be a blockbuster of a show.
Over the years Movie Week has produced some of our favourite Strictly moments.
Here are some of them in picture form:
Here at the Strictly Support Group, we know there’s only one way to decide the best dance… with a poll of course! Earlier in the week we asked you to share your favourite Movie Week moments to put to the public vote. We’ve combined your suggestions with some of our favourites. All you have to do is vote for your top 5 before 8pm tonight! We’ll then reveal the results!
Get voting people:
If you can think of others to add to the poll, vote other, then comment with your choice below and we’ll make sure it’s added to the results.
It’s Election Day here in the UK and that fills us with joy for 2 reasons:
1) It gives us a chance to vote (as Strictly fans you know we love to vote, especially when we have Bill Payer’s permission – Hi there Bill)
2) It gives us a chance to launch our Strictly Support Group General Election.
Yes, last General Election we hosted a General Election giving you the chance to vote for some of your favourite dances and declare which couple and dance you would see as Prime Minister/Leader of the Opposition. This year it’s no exception and it’s back by popular demand. We even have two wonderful polls for you to vote in.
The first is to declare the couple you would like to see win our Election. You can pick from any three in the poll options listed below:
The second is to declare the dance you think would be most likely to win a General Election. All you need to do is watch the dances below and then choose your top three and vote in the poll just beneath the playlist:
Voting will remain open until 10pm tonight. We’ll reveal the winning results tomorrow morning.
Get voting folks (but don’t forget to ask Bill Payer’s permission first, we all know how angry he can get!)
We have come to the end of a wonderful week putting the truly brilliant, dynamic duo of Danny and Oti in the spotlight!
It’s been a week of many highs, from That Samba and Charleston to their American Smooth. As you know, in true Strictly Support Group style, we love nothing more than to give our supporters and followers the chance to vote!
As a couple, during their time on Strictly, they took a lot of risks which paid off and Oti’s choreography was original, challenging and showcased Danny’s true ability.
Over the past 7 days, we’ve shown 7 of our favourite routines from Team Doti. Now you’ve seen them too, all you need to do is vote in the poll below. In case you need a reminder of the dances, here they are again for you to enjoy! *watches them over and over*
Get voting people! Voting will remain open until 8pm tonight when we’ll close the vote before revealing the winning dance and the next couple to feature in our Strictly Couple Weeks!
We have reached the final category in our Ultimate Strictly Challenge. Like all results shows, we hate saying goodbye, but tonight it’s time for us to reveal your top 4 show dances which make their way into the Ultimate Strictly Challenge final (which is next week by the way) and for us to reveal our final category *grabs a tissue as she gets a tad emosh*
Thank you for all your votes this week. They have been counted, checked and verified by an independent adjudicator – she’s fluffy and a feline fan of Strictly, it’s Cinnamon the Cat! Said adjudicator is purring contently now she has heard the result:
We can now reveal that the 4 show dances making their way into the final are Danny and Oti’s, Kellie and Kevin’s, Ore and Joanne’s and Louis and Flavia! Well done to these four couples.
Now, it’s time for us to move onto our final category. You have sent us your suggestions, and we’ve combined them with some of the dances we felt were perfect on Strictly (*nudges Craig Revel Horwood to find out why he didn’t give them a 10*) All you need to do is click on the link below to watch the videos (there are quite a number of them) and once you’ve watched them vote in the poll below for your top 10!
Voting will remain open until next Sunday at 6pm, when we’ll freeze the vote before revealing the results at 8pm. We’ll then put the top 10 as well as the winners from the past 7 weeks to the public vote, to reveal the best Strictly dance ever!
So last week, we launched the Ultimate Strictly Challenge to help us decide the best Perfect Scoring dance in the history of Strictly!
Week one’s categories were The Waltz and the Cha Cha Cha. It saw Lisa and Brendan and Caroline and Pasha battle it out for the crown of Cha Cha Cha Champion and Matt and Flavia and Abbey and Aljaz battle it out for the crown of Waltz winners.
Thank you all for your votes. They have been checked, counted and verified and we can now reveal that the couples winning their places in the Ultimate Strictly Challenge final are *drumroll and does a samba to create suspense* are Lisa and Brendan Representing the Cha Cha Cha and Abbey and Aljaz representing the waltz. Well done to both couples. We’ll see you in the final.
Now we can move onto decide week two’s categories! This week we have chosen to let Tangos and Jives battle it out against one another! All you need to do is watch these four videos then vote for your favourite from each dance style in the polls below! You can vote in each poll once a day up until next Sunday at 6pm when the vote will be frozen once again.
Keep voting and Keep dancing people! All your favourites need your votes.
Yes, Britain has achieved a Silver and a Bronze in Gymnastics, but the all-important question is who will win Gold in the Strictly Olympics Gymnastics?
Yesterday we asked you to nominate the couples and dances you’d like to see go head to head to be crowned Strictly Olympics Gymnastics champions. We were looking for couples who best summed up this statement:
Thank you for all your nominations. Here they are in playlist form (where we had more than one dance suggested per couple, we’ve chosen their highest scoring dance to be put forward for the public vote.) We think it should be called battle of the showdances, but there are some other brilliant acrobatic dances in there too:
Once you’ve watched all the dances, you can vote for your favourites by clicking on this wonderful poll:
Get voting people! Voting will close tonight at 9pm when we’ll reveal the results after our Strictly Support Group!

Tonight on our blog we’re starting our Champion of Champions competition. We’ve selected 20 contestants who’ve appeared on Strictly over the past 13 series and each week we’ll show you one of their dances. Every week you’ll have the chance to vote for your favourite and then on the following Sunday we’ll reveal the couple with the fewest votes who will be eliminated.
Should this prove successful, we will also look at running this feature again once this round has finished!
It hasn’t been possible for us to include everyone (partly due to lack of their dances featuring on YouTube), however we’ve chosen 20 of our favourite competitors over the past 13 series.
Our 20 competitors are as follows:

Abbey Clancy (Series 11)
Caroline Flack (Series 12)

Earlier this morning, we revealed our final two candidates in our Strictly Support Group General Election! We love the Charleston and today’s two candidates were pure gold! One triumphed for having a cool, laid-back vibe and the other was quirky, cheeky and pure entertainment! They are Sophie and Brendan’s and Chris and Ola’s fab-u-lous Charlestons!
Watching these dances, it’s easy to see why they both deserve their places in the Election:
1) Every election needs a peoples’ champion, and this dance helped Chris and Ola win Strictly 2009. It was cheeky, quirky and captured Chris’s personality perfectly. Both he and Ola looked adorable, in fact more adorable than your favourite politician holding a baby or a puppy or a kitten or something cute!
2) Being a politician is all about remaining cool under pressure and Sophie and Brendan did this perfectly. There
were risky lifts, acrobatics and super fast choreography. All of these were performed perfectly in WEEK 2! The whole routine was brilliant and is deserving of a place in our election for being the leader of the pack. We loved both of them and hope you will too, so here are both dances we showed earlier:
Sophie and Brendan’s Charleston
Chris and Ola’s Charleston.
Now you’ve seen all our dances, here’s a reminder of the candidates (in video form):
You’ve watched and now all that needs to be done is to vote. We are pleased to reveal that voting is now OPEN! *Does a dance like our pros do on Claud 9* You have until 3pm tomorrow to cast your vote for our Strictly Support Group Prime Minister. Just choose your favourite from the poll below. We’ll reveal the result tomorrow evening from 7pm. Get voting people!

As you probably know, to us strictly fans, Tuesdays are known as Tango Tuesdays. It’s the day when we like to remember and cast our eyes over some of our favourite Tangos from strictly history.
For us, one Tango has stood out over the past 11 series, the very dramatic and terrific tango from Zoe Ball and Ian Waite in series 3. It was superbly danced and performed sending shivers down our spine.
Here’s a reminder for you all:
We think you’ll agree it was simply superb. We’d like to find out which Tango has been the greatest Tango of all time for you. Just enter the poll below to cast your vote.
We’ll post the results on here later tonight after our Ballroom Class.
